sky coverage

Recommended Posts

Is it true the only telivised(on sky) match we'll have at stonebridge road is on the last day of the season (against halifax)? Do we have any away matches telivised? i think that a team like G&N a newly promoted team who have been a success story like ours deserves more coverage. It seems that the only source if information (other than the website) is the brilliant coverage provided by our sponsers Gravesend Reporter. Thoughts? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/director.gif" alt="" />

I'm not sure where you got the idea that the Halifax game is to be televised.

Of course if either of us are pushing for the playoffs then it's a possibility, but the games for the end of the season have yet to be decided.

You can get bits and pieces of information from various websites. Go to the Links Page and look at the sites in the Other Links... Box

Over the past few weeks having had a better than expected season so far (unless you're a member of the 'Fleet' faithful), I've spoken to various fans and we've all come to the same conclusion, that it's highly unlikely that G&N will get much TV coverage. Why?

To use Andy's own phrase, because 'we are a little club'. We've come from relative obscurity and are/were favourites to go straight back down. The team is made up of unknowns and we're situated in unfashionable north Kent, one step removed from Essex. And between Charlton, one of the smaller Premiership clubs and Gillingham, one of the also rans of Division One. But, that doesn't mean we couldn't get some coverage. How?

Get to the 2nd Rnd or better of the FA Cup. Nothing like a bit of giant killing grabs the medias attention.

Get to the Semi-Finals or better of the FA Trophy.

Get into the play-offs. FA and renovations permitting, Rymans to League in two seasons.

Finally the most likely, playing a promotion contender towards the end of the season. And we'll probably be away.

TV is very fickle, if you're not fashionable, if you're face doesn't fit or if you're just not TV friendly you're out of luck.

These are just the views of a small percentage of the fans, but our TV debut will come, sooner rather than later.
