The Subways

Well despite having flu and not really liking The Subways I decided to go and see The Subways at The Astoria last night (Neil had 3 tickets and nobody was going so he lobbed me a free one, otherwise he wasn't going to go at all I felt bad as I'm always dragging him to see my crappy indie bands <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />)

I stood at the back and was sober, something I don't think I've ever done at a gig but they were fantastic actually, so much energy and I've never seen a crowd go so mental, I always thought they were a bit like White Stripes rip offs but they are better and have come a long way since I saw them last December in Kings X

Next time I'm up the front with the kids, although at the back there was a few older people and I was remanissing about the early 90's with some bald bloke.

The Rifles were support and I saw them at Leeds festival but was too battered to actually remember what they were like, they were well good as well.

The first band The Frakes were a bit crap!

And I was tucked up in bed by midnight having spent zero cash!

Glad to see that despite crippleing illness you are prepared to suffer in order to spend quality time with you're best friend.
