Reading Macs interview in the NLP on Sunday. It would appear that he's using Gravesend to re-kickstart his hopeful move up into the league, not that I blame him for one moment he has loads of talent and at times deserves to be there, as do other Fleet players.I just hope that he bides his time.

I have the impression that players do not like having to go to our club (G&N) as it is considered to be the last option prior to dropping out of sight.

Your entire edict is wrong,Bill. If future Premiership, Championship or Nationwide League players want to use us as a stepping stone for their careers, we should feel honoured for them to use us as that stone.
We presently have a number of young players who will no doubt grace a bigger stage than Stonebridge Road, as Bullard, Smelt and Bentley have done.
I could name,Holloway, Jaimie Smith, Ross Smith, Surey, Slatter, Sodje, and MacDonald as players who will/could play at a higher level than at present. If not with us, then good luck goes with them, and a big thank you for choosing us.
Go back to looking for the negatives of this team, Bill, as you always do, but look hard as they are becoming few and far between.

Some interesting views guys !

Everyone seems to forget however, that the main reason any player goes to any club (us included) is because of the financial package he is offered.

Charlie won't be any different to any other player. He'll be happy with us until he is "tapped up" by another club from a higher or lower level that offers him higher wages. That's football in the 21st century !

Just enjoy the players when they are with us.

There are not many Kenny Burrets or Jimmy Jacksons around in football these days !

Liam took a bit of a gamble signing Charlie with his injury record. Up until two weeks ago it looked as though it was paying off. Let's hope he plays more games for us this season than he has in previous seasons at other clubs. he looks like a real quality striker. But .... he's injured now and won't score many from the main stand !

I'm sorry if I upset you Bill, but please explain why almost every post you make is filled with doom, dispondancy and negativity. Don't you see what we see - the best squad for decades, playing the best football for decades, against the best teams for decades in the best league for decades, on the best playing surface for decades.

OK I agree the stadium is a dump, that is being addressed by the club.

Maybe the new ground will in the wrong place for you, or the seats the wrong colour, or facing the wrong way, I'm sure you will find fault.

You say you have the impression that players do not like coming to our club. from whom did you get that gem?

For the first time since the very early 1980's we are now a club that can attract potential or ex-football league players. Don't say they are has beens, try telling that to MaCarthy, Bowry Grant and MacDonald who have been 120% committed this year, and have performed majestically.

instead of just looking at the Fleet from your own 'glass half empty' viewpoint, try to bolster the positives about the club.

Hey,no mention of Jay Saunders in your list.He would certainly be a bigger loss than Drury or Surey if he were to go.Drury is class in spasms, but they are few and far between, and Ben Surey has had few chances to prove himself this season.

Agreed, Roy, but my list was by no means exhaustive.
