Uxbridge 1 Enfield Town 2

Gate 156

Hall, Campbell, Penn, Gant, Allen, Brotherton, Ritchie, Hall, Smith, Hammatt, Morgan, Woodward, Baldwin, Valandia, Ofori, Kamata.

Well Uxbridge went straight into attack mode but that allowed Lee Smith to break out and charge up the field in a one on one with Pelton but the keeper managed to parry the ball but onto the feet of Hammatt who nailed it in the roof of the net from a wide angle. 0 – 1 on 56 seconds. Uxbridge came storming back on 9 minutes to score 1 – 1. On 31 minutes Bradley Brotherton rose salmon like and glanced home an absolute stonker of a goal 1 – 2.

The old Uxbridge niggle was there to see and an off the ball incident with kicking Bryan Hammatt on the ground saw Uxbridge reduced to 10 men. The Ref Mr Phil Sharpe was booking players like an excited autograph hunter and it wasn’t as dirty a game as we all feared.

Second half was nothing to write home about but Town certainly looked a lot better than against Chatham. A minor niggle between Johnny Morgan and another Uxbridge player resulted in both getting their marching orders.

And guess what if we win our home game against Southall in the Middlesex Senior Cup then we have to return to Uxbridge again for that competition.

3 well won points

How dirty did you expect it to be then?? Three sending-offs, numerous yellow cards, excessive intimidation of the referee and arms/elbows flying everywhere whenever Uxbridge made an aerial challenge. It was a good result for Town as Uxbridge were clearly using spoiling tactics in their attempt to obtain a favourable result. However, we need to start putting teams like Uxbridge to bed and I believe improved performances are needed against Ilford and Boreham Wood if we are to secure all six points. That said, what a great position we are in; I was downcast after the Dartford game but it's all changed now. Roll on the rest of the season.

Nice tidy ground. Tea/coffee in china cups. The lady who served me with a smashing cornish pastie was next seen selling gate tickets!

Any, If you can get me electricity & water plumbed in to our "JETS HANGAR TEA BAR" then you can have a nice China Mug & Hot Sausage Rolls/Pasties at Goldsdown Road.

Don't think we do bad with the facilities we have got!!!
