HORNCHURCH FC,A CLUB ON THE UP

Eastside Urchin

Recommended Posts

Although tonight wasn't the best game of football in the world, just to be there and witness the vast travelling army of hornchurch fans made me realise that afc hornchurch, after a testing last 12 months, seem to be enjoying the football again without worrying about any other issues apart from football,i couldn't believe how many hornchurch fans were at london apsa tonight,i know it is only 5 miles away, but for a league cup game which we had more or less qualified for next stage of anyway there seems to be more and more people coming to away games, there must of been 150 hornchurch fans there tonight, which is terrific support, keep it up chaps

the only problems we seem to have so far is how and what time we are going to go to away games(ie fa vase next round, these are the problems that i like)

keep it up all urchins,staff and fans and lets watch this club grow,proud to be a part of it,however small! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

well said. i couldn't b there 2nite, but before i went to uni and could go 2 games regularly, i was surprised & impressed by how many people travel 2 away games. it says a lot for the club, and i'm sure that this support will be rewarded by performances on the pitch.

sounds good. when i was watchin we had looked really good at times, and at others not so good. but that's bound to happen while the team was gelling. if we can keep everyone fit i don't see why we shouldn't have a great season. we definitely have the support.

max, i'm craig david's (mike's) and ant's mate. i managed 2 get to most matches up until the end of sept, but had 2 go bk 2 uni. it's my last year tho, so this should be the last season where i miss lots of games.

I counted the crowd and stopped counting at 120 as the London APSA supporter would not stand still. I estimate about 130 were there supporting HFC.

Two questions - how much was the adult entry fee tonight - I was charged £8 for myself and Jay which I thought was a bit steep, but am not sure how much the child admission price was.

And can anyone confirm for certain who got the final touch with the LAPSA lapse which led to their goal?

Apologies for the very late report tonight, but we had to go to Tesco to get essential supplies first and have only just got back.

I will not name the HFC player who we saw shopping in Tesco. So you know who you are, but don't worry, you secret is safe with me.

>>£5 adults and £3 children

Thanks - and what a programme - absolutely awful.

And not tannoy, no team sheet, no hot refreshements in the ground, no teas, and no toilets, unless you went out of the ground and into the bar.

Hardly a good advert for senior football - not to mention the many bulbs out of action on the floodlights.

dagger04 - this is the best...

aveley dave went to the bar, and politely asked if he could have an ashtray.

"we've already put one out"

was his response. priceless.

they could have said "use the carpet" as it would have elicited the same response, albeit far less funnier.

Just as well he did not ask them to unlock the toilets. I wonder what they would have said.

Re-the attendance - the previous best LAPSA gate was 105 (v Enfield Town) so I think we can safely say that this was a record crowd for them.

I was talking to Lee Sontag and Billy Holland last night during the second half and they both commented on how much of an advantage it is to have the support behind them from the faithful.

What struck me was that they obviously were not completely aware of the passion and laughter generated by the fans. It definitely sank in for the same reasons as the original comments, that we bothered to go and support the lads at a cold evening game against a poor side.

I mentioned the Vase game and they realise they have a game on their hands, what they wre not sure of was how many of us will make the journey. Let's fill two coaches and take a few cars up there too, Cogenhoe wont know what hit them!

See you all on Saturday to let Brentwood know who they league champs /Brasted Up winners will be this year.

We're back and let no one doubt it.
