LOCAL PUBS

London APSA play at Aveley FC. The nearest Good Beer Guide entry is actually in Grays and is either the THEOBALD ARMS in King's Walk or GRAYS ATHLETIC FOOTBALL CLUB in Bridge Road (the Theobald Arms may be about 200 yards closer!). In Aveley itself there is the football club bar. Slightly further afield, the Essex Beer Guide lists CAPABILITY BROWN, Park Lane, in Belhus Park (no real ale); TOP HOUSE, Purfleet Road (no real ale but may change); MARISCO (no real ale) and SIR HENRY GURNETT, both in Romford Road; and CROWN & ANCHOR, OLD SHIP and PRINCE ALBERT all in High Street. Of these the ones in High Street and Purfleet Road are probably nearest to the ground. The EBG mentions that children are welcome at the Prince Albert and that the Sir Henry Gurnett has a children's playground. However, please remember this guide is getting a bit long in the tooth (with no promise of an updated one to follow) so the details may be a bit out of date.
