Just to add EVERY side susses out that we have trouble defending down our left side and pressurises that area once they find us out. Ryan is a good player but he needs a bit of help from the player on the left of midfield. At the moment that player seems to be AWOL.

Again when asked Burke came on and did a very very good job.To me he looked equally as good a player as Green in that role. Seems to have a good brain and got forward to help lads up front.Maybe in midfield he will prove an even better an asset but will he get the chance to repeat his good performance from tonight? I doubt it! Ryan was my m.o.t.match however. Always getting forward and getting through a lot of work all game.Adolf looked exciting and Sacha did absolutely nothing wrong. His substition was purely to give fresh legs a go and to try something different for the last 15 minutes.

How did James Smith play.

Seems like we have got our tall defender,(temporarily ) and still gave someone a free header ?

Hopefuly Kola is back for sat. to bolster and toughen up the defence esp if Edwards injured

Smith had an adequate game. Seemed to want to get involved, which is good but in first half the whole team were shocking so no-one stood out. Second half a different story.Tonight really was a game of two halves.Everyone tried hard in the second half and in the end were unfortunate not to have won the game.We just need that extra "oomph".

Agreed. Smith was solid. I didn't really notice him which probably means he did ok! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Ryan was probably our star player as he was consistently good at the back and quality going forward. A couple of great crosses, and the run and ball for the goal which was gift-wrapped for McGowan to pass into the net.

Ryan absolutely awesome. McGowan very good. Amaoko is a really quick, tricky player and will definitely add something to the attack. Sacha is one of a kind - I think the opposition must realise that as he gets hammered by everyone, but he has a magnificent temperament and just gets up and gets on with it. I really thought Hasim was going to score with one of his powering headers. Charlie made a peach of a save in the first half. I do hope we see more of Burke, as he was very influential in the second half.

Bill looks like he has done the tendons in his ankle - I hope he makes a speedy recovery as he has been well nigh indispensible so far this season. I think Ryan may have been feeling a tight hamstring towards the latter part of the match.
