Boro forced to release Perpetuini

Stevenage Borough have released former Gillingham and Watford defender David Perpetuini as a cost-cutting measure.

Perpetuini, 26, joined Boro in the summer following a short spell at Walsall, but made just one substitute's appearance for the Conference club.

"Although he didn't break into our team he was a good lad to work with and will be an asset to his new club," boss Graham Westley told the Boro website.

"But with finances being strictly controlled, I could not keep him here."

If he was costing Stevenage too much then one suspects he'd be too expensive for us - in any event, do we need any more defenders? We already have the 2 central defensive current encumbents, plus James Smith, who we have now loaned out, and Graham Porter (hopefully fully fit soon). And, although it would be a last resort, we have further cover with Jay.

For right back we have Gooding to cover Proths, and at left back Glozier to cover Skins.

So, unless he's better than what we've got, then we dont need him!
