A while ago I asked about the Margate Youth team and joining it. A quick update on that is that the mother got through to Luigi and went along to see the youth team playing. Unfortunately hes a year too young to play but he is still interested in playing once hes old enough.

 

The Mum would like to say thank you to everyone who made them feel so welcome. He really enjoyed himself.

was down dane park today and the place was awash with margate youth, under 15s and under 9s had games today against walton and hersham i think under 15s were 2-0 down when i left just b4 half time and the under 9s were struggling 3-0 down but some good promise there!

John why didnt you go to Southwood the under 18s were playing there good game lost 3-0 to Ramsgate

tbh i didnt know they were playing and only came across youth section by accident as took my boy down the park!

 

Apparrently under 9s lost 3-2 still not sure of the under 15 FT

sunday 9th the under 18s are down to play Dover away will post when i know where & time but what i would like to ask MFC is where does the the team play when they are at home i heard they will not be allowed to play on Hartsdown why where else have you got the facilities for such games in Thanet

Westgate! I am sure this question came up a few days ago and likewise I am sure the club mentioned Westgate in one of their older statements concerning the youth games. I may be wrong but that info did stick in my mind at the time.

so why not hartsdown park then?

 

wouldnt hurt would it give them a chance to play in a proper ground after all surely the best of the talent will eventually get into the first team

John it's only hear say but i heard Hartsdown is only to be played on once a fortnight,you get 6 games a week on Southwood.

Thats got to be the right decision esp. in first year of the new pitch.

 

We will reap the benefits later.

 

It must rtemain a cause of concern that our speedily laid new pitch may suffer and cut up in the winter months.

Think we have been reasonably lucky up to now, insofar as it has not rained on matchdays ,and been quite dry and firm
