I think we are a better side without Mark Green. It sounds like Warren played well there today and I would rather see McGowan there ahead of Green. Though he must have been good last season as some people seem to rate him. Might have his head at Welling already?

Mark Green has gone . Info from Gate directors today . His agent has obviously put his oar in and Mark thinks he can get a deal with a league club .Not from what Ive seen this season .Still if he doesnt want to play for us sod him !

I think giving him the captains role made a difference to his performances and was possibly a lure to keep him here as he obviously does have talent, but it was rumoured that he felt these talents could be better used higher up the pyramid and CK probably knew that. Up until then he was one of my stars.

Had we managed to persuade him to stay, without the responsibilty of being the captain,I am sure he would have performed admirally again. If it is true that he has left then I wish him well as I do with other departees. He will do a good job for other clubs.

I have mixed feelings about this but even so wish him all the best.

His departure hasnt been officially confirmed anywhere yet though has it?

No cookie but as i said we were talking in the bar and this info was given to us by a Margate director . Marks agent Cyril Regis I think that was who he said , has persuaded him to look else where higher up the leagues , and also that he had been a disruptive influence in the dressing room .

I think he will do well.

 

Bit disappointed with apparent disloyalty,and thought one more season-at least until the new year- at mfc would have done him well.

Since his injury-has he lost a yard of pace.

 

I also recall him being 'fit' about end of Feb. ,but CK with his personal experience holding him back until about April, for the long term benefit of Mark Green.

 

Had Green played throughout March,and we could have stopped playing our 'juniors' out of position at full back,we may well not have had that dreadful run which despite the loss of 10 points for the CVA effectively cost us relegation.

 

I am disappointed for CK ,MFC and supporters that his apparent support of MG's career was not reciprocated.

 

As one is not privy to the inside info, i could have got that completely wrong, but from afar, thats how it looks to me

No1.Thee Cyril or not, why the hell is a player at this level spending his wages on agents for. Iam sorry if i offend, but they are just parasites that have tunneld there way to the very rootes of the game.What does a player at this level realy want one for. No2. Is he or is he not under contract this season. I thought he signed for 2 seasons. If he is then put 15000 grand on him with sell on clauses and if what is said is true then if they dont come in let him stew.

A real shame besides his form in his last few games he could all ways be counted on to be one of if not the best performer on the pitch, hope he finds a good club becuase i think he will be hard pushed to find one as a good as the Gate.

In support of Mark Green, remember he used to turn up at Crabble to support the team all the time he was injured (another one who did that was Ian O'Connell).
