Your resident Southend fan here again. Due to our ticket office being inept recently, I missed out on our sell out trip to Gillingham today, so I popped along to see you in action again. I must admit that I did prefer your days in the Conference South, but I'll still come along anyway.

I ended up sitting in amongst your players who didn't play and Collier joined them in the second half. He hurt his calf in last weekends game and despite it reacting well to treatment, it went in the first few minutes and he said it went completely numb as he tried to get across to the free kick. Your sub keeper is a bit porky isn't he? Where has he come from?

Not the best of games today was it? Cobb still looks to have it and for you I thought Heale was different class. He seems to have a great touch and he took his goal superbly and on that showing could possibly progress up the ladder. Not particularly impressed by Cowley, the No7, who seemed to make it his job to try and be everywhere and do everything, whilst the complete rollicking he gave to Dear in the 2nd half wasn't really warranted. Tiffin had a stinker, although he wasn't the only one!

Good luck for the rest of the season, perhaps we could both get promoted eh?

and I also thought the eastside were somewhat subdued...is this a sign that they are fearful of the 'toffs riverside choral society.'... a little insecure perhaps...

as for the game...well for sure we were not ourselves but then again it takes two and tilbury stuck to the tony cross game plan and it worked...

great gate...458....well done you lot and thanx....good atmosphere in the bar and all in all another good day...2 points dropped but hey...we're here for the beer and we'll still finish in the top ten....

can you hear the hammers sing...

sunderland couldn't hear a fckn thing....

Nice to see Cobby still producing the goods. Never really cut it at Canvey.

Felt very wierd today not to be at the match, but I'm back at university now until december, so will have to make do with watching clips of the goals on the website!

was dissapointing to lose a lead again today, but Danny Heale's goal looks a cracker. Hopefully we'll soon be back to winning ways, it's just a matter of confidence, as we definitely have the players & management in place. Today's result is certainly not a disaster, and I'm sure we'll bounce back.

"Deleted" but already read haha!, on reflection from yesterday another great day at the Ol' Stadium and great Urchins support, I was comparing ours to the Connie South, Ryman and Southern and there's only a handful bigger than ours.

Well done to all you supporters and very vocal as well, yes it was nice to pick up the crowd money, cheers Trigsy!

Also a nice surprise to Nette and co in the bar, thanks for that, the last birthday cake I had was 5th birthday 38 years ago.

Enjoyed the banter about the luverly 'Ammers, we're used to it you know.

The game yesterday seemed to change course when the rains came and I think the wet surface levelled things out a bit, we still had more of the play though but there will be many more like that this season.

Nice to meet their Manager Crossy again who took the time to say hello even while the game was in progress. First exchanged salutations when TC was at Billericay some 3 years ago and there is a man who is devoted to NLF.

We roll on then and the APSA on Tuesday followed by Brentwood next Saturday, maybe a few familiar faces on show!

cheers to everybody "Let's see yer!"

Danny Heale was and has been all season, a different class. He holds the ball up fantastically well and looks like scoring every time he has a chance to shoot. Have to say on Saturday, one or two of the boys were a little shy in front of the Tilbury goal, mind you it must have been interesting playing against a keeper bigger than a garden gnome.

Not the best performance, but entertaining nonetheless, especially when the storm broke. Perhaps our bench should have an ark on hand in case of flooding.
