National NON - SWEARING day -TODAY

Guest

Recommended Posts

On the Isthmian forum it states in a posting that today is National NON-SWEARING day.

How about everyone refraining from SWEARING, but also from ABUSING & generally falling out with our collegues if only for today.

Lets see if we cant all be civilised to each other and give people the benefit of the doubt both registered and non-registered alike, regardless of the content of posts.

Who will weaken,if any?

Will be interesting and the results of today will be seen on here at midnight tonight.

Come on now lets give it a go.

This morning there was a personal attack on JJ from Veaney which I commented on, stating that it is just the thing that we want to get rid of. The original post has now been deleted by the moderator. Once again a registered user, the same person, is using foul language on the forum. Veaney, are you that small minded that you think it is funny to post this sort of thing on the club supporters forum. Perhaps you should grow up and act your age. It is bad enough when posters from other clubs make infantile comments without it coming from one of us. Dave, do we have to put up with this sort of thing from him and is there anything we can do about it? It is a criminal offence.

Good start to the day.Just had to be the joker eh?

It should be up to you registered people to set an example. Surely you have will power?

This is doing the "registered" ones a lot of good & just playing into the hands of the annons.

Thats one black mark for the registered ones now. Well done Veaney. At least you werent directing your words at anyone in particular so as its "be nice day" too, well done for avoiding that at least. Still one down for the registered though.

I'm not getting involved in the Veangate controversy. However, is being rude on the Internet really a criminal offence? Can you tell which law covers this? And can you also point me in the direction of a copper who could be bothered to enforce it?

Lets not make this a personal thing. After yesterday it would be nice even if only till midnight for everyone to act with some decency.

As for swearing on a forum,of course its not a police matter but it would be nice to tone things down today dont you think especially after yesterday.Swearing dosent make a man or impress others. Seems some have difficulties in doing this & realising that fact. Still, theres hope.

Someone has put out a genuine request for an end to hostilities today so why cant we all just try, just for one day.

You could ask the moderators to ban him -, or at least prevent him from posting using his usual ISP. We had trouble a couple of months ago with a foul mouthed racist registered as Fleet Loyal/Longshanks.

Although he was using a number of different ISp's he, presumably got banned, and hasn't been seen since.

As an interested outside observer, Veaney is undoing all the good work and publicity your regular contributors make to help Margit succeed.

There is an ignore feature on this site for users to use. If you click on the users name and see at the bottom of their profile it says "Ignore this user". Of course those on this site anonymously will have to cope with having to read the posts but for registered users, thats an option.

Not wanting to get into the realms of threats or any legal action over some stupid comments, probably made when drunk, but

for your info Veaney.

Sec 5 (1) Public Order act 1986 "Display writing, sign or other visible representation which was threatening abusive or INSULTING within hearing or SIGHT of a person causing alarm harassment or distress etc.

Sec 1 Malicious Communications Act 1988 may cover it also. The internet comes under a very strong law as it is part of the telephone system.

By the way IF a complaint is made the Police are obliged to investigate.

I would like to point out also that a very high number of the posters on this Forum are not young teenagers but mature grown-ups that like to discuss matters around Margate FC and just that!!

Congratulations on a successful day.Apart from the start of the day people went about posting in a calm manner, discussed things well and managed,on the whole,to refrain from swearing. Being nice to people surely feels better than being nasty to them.

Its not National non-swearing day today but is there a chance that this feel good factor can continue anyway? Lets hope so. So much more can be achieved by being nice and discussing things in a civilised manner. Nice to have things calm down from the previous day. Nice one.
