registered user's only?

In the last few days there has been some unnecessary comments that have been posted onto this forum! I feel that it should become a registered forum to cut down on all the unwelcome posts, let me know what you think!registration only.

I think its a good idea Dave to have this poll but it was in the past too and on that occasion it was dismissed out of hand. Will the result of this poll give a true feeling? If it was for registered posts only, this poll, would it not be biased & undemocratic too. As its not yet a reg.only forum that couldnt be done anyway.

Can unregistered still not vote on this in which case I think us registered guys/gals will be outnumbered. It wont work even though I am in agreement but its worth another try though I suppose.

As you know I have been taking a rest from posting but have still been reading all the posts with interest and can see nothing has changed much.

I also said that I would be posting occasionally and with this poll coming up and the feelings about it by reg.fans, felt the need to give my backing to such a move.

We mustn't forget however that as James mentioned not all annons are bad and rude and some may have good reason not to register so ultimately I cant see anything changing. We mustn't forget that some registered people are sometimes rude and mischief making too as was I on occasions. Apologies for those occasions.

Throughout last season this forum was a lifeline for the small band of loyal Margate fans. It was used for information, sensible footballing argument and on the whole good spirited discussion. It fostered a togetherness in what can only be described as the darkest of times in the history of the club. I am still amazed at the resolution of the club's directors, management and playing staff in carrying on in such circumstances. A high point of the forum was the

organising of the demonstration outside the council offices putting pressure on the council leadership and attracting considerable media attention . Without doubt it helped the club's survival and is something to be very proud of.

It seems now that the forum is being abused and is driving away those posters who have been the most loyalest of supporters. For a family club rebuilding its links with the local community and having a youth section this state of affairs cannot be allowed to continue.

To save the integrity of the forum an effort to make it register only must be tried.

Otherwise call it a day.

I think the message you have voted in this poll, is the acceptance of your vote.

 

Because it is set to not revael the votes until the end then there is no way of being certain.

 

When we get to the end of the week we can see if the votes are there, and if not, I will arrange a new poll.

I was surprised to see this come up on the Margate Forum.

 

First it was Braintree......

 

Then GNFC........

 

.... and now it touches on Margate.

 

I quite agree that foul language and personal abuse is totally unacceptable. Humourous banter is another matter completely.

 

I sometimes wonder if some of the objectors to banter have ever been in a football club dressing-room in their life !

 

Hopefully, D.H. will get this sorted !

For your info, I have never had a vote accepted on these polls, despite trying many times (man of the match etc.). I am on AOL if that is relevant.
