Gary got what I meant..it was not about the support , but the fact that Martin Deaner did not even come to our match agaisnt Walsall last year, but would travel to Lowestoft... sad..not the fact Burnham had no supporters there was not the point...but even at home on Saturday only 110 people attended...inc about 50 from Lowestoft ! so being away made little difference anyway.

BTW

good luck to Burnham in the next round..

Only staying with Slough for financial reasons - the opertunity to make money out of developments attached to a new ground.

As I stated in a previous post, will the lack of income from a cup run now influence if he will stump up money for the wages which in reality were subsidised by the cup money last year?

Being as though cup runs are not budgeted for, I don't see how failing to have a cup run will make any difference? Any revenue generated doesn't amount to as much as people think. Gate money is split into three pots after expenses, and it's not as though we're generating revenue from the bar/tea hut either.

I think though what Staines is suggesting is that last year's "profit" from the cup run was swallowed up by the wage bill which meant ultimately that Deaner had to fork out less money. There will be no "profit" to work with this season.

However, this year we have significantly reduced our wage bill in any event so the practical effect may be negligible

Martin - that is what I meant.

I would think that the Trust needs to prepare its self ready to take a larger role in the "Financing" of the club.

I hope Martin maintains his links, but with Andy at Burnham and still no progress with the council how long will he continue to put his hand in his pocket - if it were me I would need to have a good reason to continue to invest.

I for one assumed the same as Staines - that although a new company has been formed, the wages are still basically being funded by Martyn Deaner, as per his promise of this summer (to continue funding for at least 2 more seasons wasn't it?)

It's been stated that the new company set up to run the football side of the club will be financed by Martyn. How much he's putting in is not down to us, it's between Martyn, Roy and Bernard.

As far as time goes, it's been stated that Martyn will fund the new company for the next two years whilst the assessment of the site at Colnbrook is made. That's always been the message, I don't know why people think there's some great secret they're not being told.
