i know swanscombe and Greenhithe are outside of the Borough, but both are fertile grounds for Fleet fans, I hope we can target those schools as well.

One of the problems i would have with taking kids to a game (not that i have so i might be talkin out of my bum) but having listened to some of the chants #stand up if you've f**ked his bird# and the like might be a bit off putting to a parent. I know this goes on at all football matches, but some grounds have a family section. Just an idea

Good idea Dan, but I suspect the fire and safety regulations are now so tight and demanding, extra criteria may apply. I could be wrong.

The subject of safety was raised at the forum last night, Brian admitted his hands were tied as regards the yellow hatched safety zones. The enclosures in front of the main stand would have been perfect in the "old" days, now they access routes only, with no standing.

Yeah i thought there might not be enough space, but still without being to middle class. But im sure more parent would like to take their kids to football (cos every kid under 10 that i know wants to be David Beckham) but the atmosphere can be a bit akward for parents.

Most kids of 10 and over are used to hearing the F*** and W****r words in the playground anyway.

This schools thing is excellant. Hopefully my nephew can pick up a ticket and come along. Hes been to higbury mor ethan stonebridge road . Think hes a future fleet fan though , he asked to borrow my fleet dvd`s this weekend.

I know that most 10 year olds have heard those words, but parents (most) still dont let their kids watch a movie with swear words. well ne way thought id throw that idea in. get them in the stand, that way they aint runnin about near my tea!

Meanwhile, I have a suggestion.

 

How about I knock up a different poster to our match day one, maybe a bit smaller & in flyer style?

 

If everybody possible downloaded it, printed a few copies off & just delivered a copy through the letterbox of the properties in the street where they lived only, I'm sure we could cover a large area with a bit of free advertising for the club?

 

I was thinking (possibly) of something along the lines of:

 

'Bored on a Saturday afternoon?'

'Disillusioned with sky-high Premiership prices?'

'Then maybe you should join the army - Liam Daish's Red & White Army!'

'Live football at a more reasonable cost & on your doorstep.'

 

Add a couple of pics, a fixture list etc.....

 

.....anyway, let me know your thoughts - we might just get a few extra people there.

I gave a lift home yesterday to someone outside my normal circle of Fleet friends, and the discussion on the way back was obviously Fleet related and strangely enough we came to a conclusion that plenty of the Fleet fans now on the terraces were courtesy of Fordy and the teams he assembled.

 

I didn't quite appreciate how the younger element were also peed off with what happened last year, and how his departure felt liked a loss of own.

 

Whats the answer , I am not sure, but I just hope that there is still money left , after this gamble.
