there’s so many football supporters locally, and I reckon that sooner or later something will click and they’ll cotton on to how good watching the Fleet is

Hope you are right...

You can still do the away games on the train with the Fleet, and capture some of that old nostalgia.

Dont do them all, but do do some of our northern games on the rattler.

If a few of you can get away for the weekends Southport / Morecambe - (Back into Blackpool) and Scarboro are good for a bunch of lads.

League football is a different game now to what it used to be.

Thats where we can step in, and market ourselves as the alternative. ' football as it used to be' .

Saturday 3pm KO's , affordable prices, terraces & poor facilities !

Up the Fleet

Just to correct Slarts post about the prices Southend United supporters would have paid to get into last weeks game.It was in fact £17 and not £29 so not all that much difference considering there are two leagues between us at the moment and i`m sure if and when you ever move on up the leagues your price structure will rise accordingly.

All the best for the rest of the season

standing over near the steps that go to the burger bar where i brought my winning ticket. all i had was a guy moaning and swearing about how much it was to get in and stand on a bit of concrete, how much a burger was how mucha programme was. i was saying to my dad why come if all your going to do is moan about how much you spend. either get on with it or dont come simply as.

Er...may I suggest an alternative ?

Don't like it ?...head butt the moaning b'stard !!

Apart from not getting the 3 points today, a great game ! I had a few " casual" supporters with me today.....they'll be coming back !!

Think positive....don't believe what you read in the press...see it for real & make your own opinion....don't get sucked in to Blair's dumbing down of Britain ! There's only one way of life...and that's your own !

Cheers,

Really going to boost attendance figures, telling people not to come to the games.......They pay their money, they have a right to moan........Don't like it , move away!

Moan about what? About paying the entrance fee?
Surely that is their own choice & as such, would have no grounds for complaint? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

From the BBC website today :

Fleet concerned about attendances

Gravesend and Northfleet hope to reverse the drop in attendances at Stonebridge Road this season.

Fleet, who are now a full-time club, have seen their average crowds drop by around 250 compared to last year.

"We discussed it at length at our board meeting this week and will be bringing out some new initiatives very soon," said chairman Brian Kilcullen.

"A meeting is also scheduled with the Supporters Trust to examine more ways of bringing in the fans."

This is excellent news, particularly sending the players to the schools. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

Which of course could not happen without full time players

Indeed.

However does this mean that the part-timers will not be visiting e.g Justin Skinner and Jacko

I recognise these will not be known to the youngsters but without some of out best players turning up, the kids - if they have found out about them beforehand - could be in for dissapointment.
