A new "Enemy" for us to hate ?

Who worked out these fixtures.

ITV have Champions League Coverage on Tuesday. So why not put the conference games on a wednesday? Sky haver coverage but not as many people watch those games.

Who decided a trip to Hereford would be acceptable on a Tuesday and likewise Forest Green in February is on a Tuesday?

Its detremental to the home club , as they loose a decent following for the away team.

38 (I think thats what the figure said) went to hereford. Probably would have been a few more if a Saturday.

Also , why I am moaning (in that mood today.perhaps I should stand by the tea hut tonight) why oh why did the league not schedule local games for the Engalnd International weekends. The dates for these games were decided 18 months ago. So why send Southport and York all the way down here on those days.

A nice trip to or from Canvey, Daggers,Grays, Crawley, Farborough, Woking would have been more acceptable to both sets of supporters.

And finally. Any board readers from other clubs agree with these comments.

You would lose more off your gate by playing Woking when there is an England match on than by playing Southport.

Whenever you play Southport they will not be bringing many fans with them so fewer fans have stayed at home because of footie on tv.

Woking might well bring 3-400 fans so if 20% of them stay at home to watch England it would cost us more than if 100% of the Southport fans stayed at home.

Games I would presume are scheduled like that this year as we have gone "Full Time" so not problems getting players to matches, although I agree it does make it very difficult for supporters. Last Tuesday we went to Hereford and Crawley went to Forest Green, work that out if you can.

Cant see that being a reason Jessica. I think that no one at the league has thought things through. There has always been locla matches at christmas and bank holidays , so why could they not try and fix a couple of local ones for the England weekends.

Also , Being full time shouldnt make a difference. Tuesday fixtures just do not work when there Champions League on ITV and its cold/wet/ Why not shift them to Wednesday.

It just annoys me that there are plenty of people like jessica and co , up and down the country using their spare time working to give there clubs a better chance and offer support by arranging transport , fans matches etc......... yet the bosses cant see the simple things.

I would love to see someone actually make a decnet decision at the league wuth regards the fixtures.

Do you happen to know why we play Tuesday and not Wednesday.

May be an obvious reason , but I dont know it.

I believe it is a Conference ruling. Having said that we have been playing our midweek matches on a Tuesday for as long as I can remember, and as others will be quick to point out, that is a long time.

That actually is a reason.

Full time clubs aren't given the same dispensation as part timers with regard to away travel distances.

We never got them when we part time did we? Furthest we went was Burton midweek ( the Exeter farce not included) - all our other midweek games were Dagenham, Canvey, Aldershot or full timers (Doncaster,Halifax) got to travel to us.

Nice to see you've got long-haul away fans' best interests at heart, Slarti.

Well with the content of the first post it seems flipping obvious doesn’t it? There is a precedent for trouble due to Forest Green’s antics last season so stick the game on Tuesday night and clash it with Champions League equal keep the numbers down!

Yep, I'm sure that was the real reason.
