Foul Language

One thing I did note on Saturday was the amount of foul language, in particlar the F word, coming from the dug out area during the second half I was way over on the far side near the corner ,probably as far away from the management, trainers, subs, etc as you can get,but myself and my little boy could hear it quite clearly. The referee did absolutely nothing about it.Along with apparent problems with family tickets etc ,this sort of behaviour will have an adverse affect on attendances.I do not hear this sort of language being shouted so clearly at Northdown Park where we often go on a Sun Morning to watch a local game, and to be honest quite often it is a better game than some of the fare being served up here on a Sat,I appreciate it is down to the match officials to sort out, and deal with but it is not good to see messrs Kinnear and co so blatantly showing dissent to the match officials.I am not suggesting it was CK who was swearing ,it could well have been the opposing team officials, but it did not sound good when you are trying to encourage youngsters to go along and watch Margate!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Thats not the first game Ive heard that problem...Redbridge... It isnt nice at all and isnt welcome. One of the worst things is that it sometimes comes from over-enthisiastic younger fans as well. Sorry you heard that from the dug outs, whoever it was. Its uncalled for and is never justified, however passionate a person they might be.

Just noticed that Canvey have had a problem too with foul mouthed little kids who were causing trouble...the police were called.

JJ. It seems to me to be very reasonable to be able to come on a forum and debate things.Isnt that what a forums for.The post has a genuine concern and James in turn is replying in the correct fashion by starting the debate. Why is is it wrong in your eyes to not talk about things that trouble others. In this way solutions may be found. As for whinging why does everytime someone speak out about something they are not happy with you choose to call it whinging. Has this person continually moaned? We dont know, so in that sense it isnt whinging and besides you have been heard to whinge on several occasions yourself.

If this chap/lady feels this needs to be said then why not.It is something that should be addressed so please bug off and try your sensible approach elswhere. You are by no means a bigwig, not as much as you believe you are & you have at times a serous lack of understanding and knowledge.

I dont think I was raising for the bait at all. If this is just a joke then Ive been caught out but on the other hand this anonymous might not be taking the mickey. Either way Its not something to kick up about. If it's BS then we'll know. And considering the trouble Ive been in with anons before I try not to risk it anymore. Its just not worth the trouble anymore.

No,you were not rising to any bait James. The mention of foul language at games seems reasonable to me.If we have reasons for people to stop coming to games then they should be addressed and talked over and sorted quickly.Already we have the family ticket thing that threatens a boycott from certain people and therefore we dont need another item such as swearing to prevent others from entering the ground on matchdays. You have done nothing wrong and talking over things like this may help rid others of their fears on the day of the game.Swearing will continue, thats a cert but if it can be reduced whether it be from the supporters, the club or the officials then it will have been worthwile talking over.

When Ford United, now Redbridge, played Dover a couple of years ago their directors behaved like foul mouthed hooligans as did their players, so it does not surprise me to hear of the possibility that there was worse than normal swearing from the dugout.

I have only just logged on again.I am the person who posted the original comment. The only person who can deal with this sort of problem is the referee. No one can stop all bad language at football matches particularly from the spectators and the match officials have no control over this, but when it is coming from team officials etc then something can be and should be done about it On Saturday the referee and his assistant both totally ignored it.That is why it carries on and managers, in particular CK carry on ranting and raving about decisions that do not go their way,By this I am again not suggesting it was Chris swearing but he was having a go.I apologise for stirring up a hornets nest that was not my intention. It was just an honest opinion on a problem that needs to be sorted.
