I was just following the links on there, and came across this:

Friday 16 September

Art Brut Battle of the Franchises Vol. I

THE ROCKS

+ Space Peacocks

+ The Sam Assortment

+ The Criminal Housewives

+ LeboviciAB84

+ DJs Pom Pom

+ The Confetti Girls

+ DJ Gertcha

- Doors 8.00. £5/£3 via guest list

The Rocks headline the first of our Art Brut Franchise gigs, compered by Xfm's Marsha Shandur, supporting brave new artists from the Art Brut forum, and the first of many events aimed at bringing these talented youths into the limelight.

"If the Strokes were made of cheese, you'd only have to mention a grater and they'd cry. The Rocks, conversely, would wiggle and squirm, wail like Jagger, and fight the grater tooth and nail. They'd lose. But they'd lose like naked writhing beasts. Which we think is important." [The Fly].

The Rocks bring their gritty London sweat-rock, to the first of these indie rock extravanganzas and with this headline act [fresh from their recent torrent of London gigs, including Koko and The Barfly], not to mention a 2am club night featuring DJs Pom Pom and The Confetti Girls, the evening promises to be a gig you won't forget in a hurry.

Each of the four Franchise bands, are talented, raw and vibrant in their own right, spurred on by the success of their friends and supporters Art Brut. Also be ready for a secret, special guest band [providing some Reef but no Gas] to be revealed on the night. To celebrate the birth of this red hot new indie night, £3 guestlist tickets can be obtained by e-mailing full names to here.

Be prepared to rock... hard!

And be prepared to come early.

This is going to sell out.

Is DJ Gertcha Gertcha? Apologies if the answer to that's obvious, I haven't been on here for years
