1. Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. Any comments, observations or complaints regarding the pricing policy at The Mighty Saints should be addressed to the Chairman, Gibbo, c/o Fortress Clarence Park, etc. Don't bother posting them on our forum as, firstly most users agree with you, and secondly Gibbo doesn't go on it because its 'trash'.

2. I think I can re-assure you that there wont be any segregation. Except of those mouthy kids that sat at the front of your stand opposite the dug-outs. There's a sound-proof room under the main stand that's available for them.

Somebody on the minimum wage has to work 2 hours to see a 90 minute game of football! As I pointed out in my post you have lost a potential £5 how many more are priced out of your club?

Oh but im sure there must be some sort handout the government give to those who qualify, lets face it they give handouts to just about everybody else!! Grrrrr

Concessions [u.16s and OAPs] are £18.

We make them pay double because they don't have to pay tax or mortgages.

After a long day at work, that did make me chuckle <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Good morning 'Sponsor of Beer'.

Particularly in the light of the background to the establishment of Enfield Town FC, that is a rather foolish thing to say, or more accurately, write. [but then, you are in danger of making a habit of writing foolish things on message boards, aren't you? Don't let the odd breach of confidence cost you your job, old chap.]

Just so there is no lasting unease following the innuendo of your posting, allow me to enlighten those who might be interested.

The home of The Mighty Saints is situated within a public park, originally 'given' to the people of St Albans many years ago. Through the Charity Commission, the day-to day management of the Park is vested in St Albans District Council. In that capacity, the Council granted a lease of 'the stadium' to St Albans City FC, which is for a term of 20 years. The tenant is the private limited company that trades as St Albans City FC. I have seen the lease and it is a tightly worded document, limiting the use of the ground to, not surprisingly, the playing of football matches. Not rugby, hockey, or anything else. Just football.

The casual reader of your post, 'sponsor of beer', seeing the words "value per square metre" and its importance, and the reference to 'property speculation', might be forgiven for thinking that there is some form of 'development value' at Clarence Park available to the shareholders/'benefactors' of St Albans City FC. That is not so, as you will now recognise.

Always pleased to assist.

At least it will keep the riff-raff out.

Hi AFF. I really hope that st Albans Fc never lose their beloved ground. It happened to us at Enfield ,and i wouldn't wish what we have been through on any fellow supporter.

Just heed this cautionary fact. Enfield council gave Enfieled Fc a 99 year lease on their ground. Three years later, the Stadium had gone and luxury flat sanctioned by the council, had replaced our football club.

Well, although I would never say something will never happen, the circumstances are rather different. I would think that it is unlikely that planning permission would be obtainable for development at Clarence Park, being in, well, Clarence Park, if you see what I mean. As EFC had a new 99 year lease on the ground, it could not have been sold unless the lessee (i.e. EFC) agreed, or I understand, instigated. Of course as freeholdr the council could have declined to sell, but if their tenant wished to relinquish his lease, why should they?

Wasn't Southbury Road part of the lodal playing fields?

It only takes the right application to the right people change things.

I'd be careful AFF.

'Inneundo' is a fascinating word, isn't it.

Please don't worry about 'breaches of confidence...', those who know me would recognise me that's not an issue. And they get the good stuff....

I suggest you pay more attention to publicly available documents, information, etc. I've heard the internet is quite good!

'Seek the truth...and all that'

Fingers crossed for the future.

Good morning chaps. And to you, 'Sponsor of Beer'.

Two pretty dire football matches. Surely The Mighty Saints can't play that badly again, although I did say that after Friday. We surely can't play that badly 3 times in a season! We showed glimpses last night and found space on either flank but the final ball into the box was pretty woeful overall. And on the rare occasions, Lee Clarke had clearly left his scoring boots behind. Three goals in the last 30 minutes and on we go, but I was wondering what I was missing on the TV.

As for your lot, it was interesting to see on Friday that when a good side comes up against a side playing two divisions higher, they forget [or are coached to forget] everything they do week in, week out. Shooting at Paul Bastock from 35+ yards isn't even a training exercise for the guy. You have some skilful players in that side but they didn't begin to show it until the last 20 minutes or so on Friday. Hammatt has good ball skills, to go with his niggling petulance, and why doesn't Ofori start every week?

There's something on another thread about bad language on [your] terraces. I heard the usual singing but you will have to go some to wind up our currently aging supporters. I did notice that you have a good number of youngsters in the crowd, which is great for your future and a few, but by no means all, of whom on Friday were particularly gobby, no doubt learning from their elders and betters. Keep encouraging the yoof!

You will do well in your League with that side. Good luck for the season from me.

A last word to you 'Sponsor of Beer'. You know very well which was the first of your postings on our board that attracted my attention and I took a few moments to make enquiries to establish who you are. Very foolish. But then, we should all be allowed one moment of foolishness without serious penalty. Your second post on here concerning the potential for redevelopment at Clarence Park was quite ridiculous to anyone with any basic level of knowledge, and I wondered why you made it? The only conclusion that held any water was that you enjoy causing mischief. Whatever. That's up to you. You should get out more.

You remind me of someone, Sponsor of Beer. When it comes to mischief, he's a 'pro', and you're a mere student. I would pick another role model if I were you.

Good luck to you all, once again.
