I thought it was a good game today (for a neutral, which I'm not) Sloppy goals yes, bags of effort yes, I agree with a few other posters, too much high stuff to Charlie and Manny. Their defenders lapped those up all afternoon, probably won 80-90% of the headers. Jay was outstanding and the two saves their keeper made were fantastic.

I even thought the Referee had a reasonable game. I thought the two bookings in the first half were harsh, Proths and their guy, I think Slatts hurt himself when he fell not as a result of the challenge but it did calm the players down. I had to listen to the moronic idiots standing behind me whinging about offside all afternoon when they're 20-30 yards away from the last line of defenders. Please, please, please learn the new offside law and shut up!

Finally, all the best to Jacko for Tuesday, a remarkable achievement these days.

For their first goal, the scorer looked offside when he received the ball, but as I was behind the goal, and couldn't look in 2 directions at the same time, I wasn't sure. Can anyone comment who was standing at the side ?

I was dead in line and I don't think he was offside, I got the impression that the ball rebounded to him off a defender so it didn't really matter where he was anyway. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
