We weren't great today. Their keeper pulled off 2 stunning saves which won the game. We were out tacticked??? by their direct, through the channels style of play.

Manny looked woeful when he came on, like a PASE player. Too lightweight and puny.

Drury oozed class every time he got on the ball.

3 points against FGR.

Rumour has it Woolfie and Kenny B will be making a guest appearance.

I dunno, I thought we played well - funny that Daish said he thought we started poorly, I thought we raced out of the blocks! Undone by two soft goals, though, and defended well. Any lesser defence and we might have had three points today. Agreed about Manny though, he barely got in the game, although launching high balls at him won't help!

Thought we dominated possesion but at the end of the day, two stupid goals were conceeded. Kiddy got all 11 behind the ball <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/sleeping.gif" alt="" /> and we couldn't break them down.

Thought Drury was pretty useless up front and tbh I think he's better in midfield. Gets pushed/ falls over everytime he gets the ball. Doesn't get a chance to do what he's good at - dribble down the wing and cross the ball. Manny hasn't looked great yet this season though, so maybe it's time we give Kim Grant a try up front again?

I thought the difference Macca made when he went up front at the end of the match demonstrated how much we need a big forward.

As soon as we had someone who could win the first challenge in the air we caused them all sorts of problems uptil then their centre backs had had a field day.

Drury looked much more effective when he moved out to the wing, Jay was superb again, Ross looked the most uncomfortable that I have seen him but I think a lot of that should go down as credit to Christie who looked a real handful.

Which only begs the question, why Manny and not Kim Grant?

Beg to differ why Manny and why long ball !!

Before Manny came on , Charlie was not hit to feet at all and when Manny came on it got worse as we whacked it up to Macca who played played up front.

even tho still thought we were worthy of at least a point today, and 2 sloppy goals cost us. ( were they the only attempts on target by them ?)

Not dis heartened as another day with the same performance and effort we would get all 3 points.

We are all still living in a Bobby Bowry world.

Just how did the goalie make that save...

Other things

Crowd was up a little. According to my head count there were 71 from Kiddy (nice friendly bunch apart from the pillock with the drum, what was he doing to our goalie, thats simply not on. That 1 guy could tarnish them all).........tuesday nights crowd will be interesting.

I would say that they looked good for most of the first half. Then they went to pieces and were a bit lucky to hold on...draw would have been fair...dont forget they were the away side

As for us, bad defending for the second goal. Goalie out of position and could have been cleared off the line. Good games for Mcdonald again (well taken goal and I still cant believe the save from the header), Jackson and Ross. Im not complaining, I believe we have done well so far and can be a match for any side.

Mr Protheroe please mind your language when talking to our own Stewards, they are trying to help. Hope thats the end of our home defeats for a while. If we are going to progress we have to turn Stonebridge Rd into a stronghold.

My own feeling after the game today was feeling sorry for the team. I feel that most of them had worked so hard and to not get any reward must have been really tough. I feel we have a very promising side this season, but as we all do, players will have off days and they will all make mistakes sometimes and that is probably when they most need our support.

McCarthy had to head one off the line in the second half, but I can't remember any others that really tested us.

Nice to see people not overreacting to the fact we lost today - while certain areas of the team can be improved, on another day we could have stolen a point. Good displays from Jay and Charlie in particular today.

I.m.o The better team won over 90 mins but having said that the way kiddy set their stool out in the 2nd half we deserved a least a draw.In the first half i felt we was guilty of giving to many wasted passes and long ball passes away, but over all a very good 2nd half attempt at getting something out of the game, lets hope we get the rub of the green on tuesday night.

I stand in the proximity of the tea hut, and heard the negative remarks. Which I feel, they are entitled to say, but were unjustly comments. I remember proths about to throw the ball in and no-one was calling for it. I think Lee is a professional player through and through, and I was frustrated because there were times when no-one called for the throw-ins. As for bowry, I though he played well. In general I think we showed kiddy it was not going to be an easy game.

I felt that overall we played quite well on Saturday. We didn't have the height up front to win the second ball in the air. Drury didn't play well (Yes I am saying it!!!), he is not a forward though, and hasn't got the strength to flick the ball on to the likes of Charlie and Manny.

The overall play was good, and the defence played well up to a point. We gave them too much room for their goals, but apart from this, the defence closed down well. Macca had an excellent last 15 mins up front too, an ingenious idea by Mr. Daish. and Mr Kimble. Also liked the way AK laid in to the linesman on the offsides. It made me smile!!
