East Thurrock 0 Billericay Town 3

well the best way to answer your critics is to step up to the mark, play the football we all associate with the team and beat the oppo 0 - 3. And that is what they did.

A slow start to the game but after about 15 minutes we cranked it up and Nathan slotted home his first. East Thurrock didn't really offer that much but weren't really given the chance with our defence stepping up and their front players being caught constantly offside. some lovely football was played after the goal by our lads and we went in at half time confident.

Second half started as the first finished with us looking the brighter of the two sides although East Thurrock did press a bit more as you would expect them to. Danny Hockton got taken off and Neil Cousins came on. And it was Cuz who was shoved in the box that rsulted in a penalty. Again we were the brighter of the two teams and their goalkeeper, after exchanging the imortal words of "Can you get him off the pitch ref, we've got three goals to score" while Nathan was being attended to for a head injury, scuffed a clearence against Nathan, which then Nathan duly converted into an empty net.

A better performance from the lads in which they did, at times, show the quality that can bring promotion to the club.

Well done lads...

Well Gazza never let it be said that Andy G is not a fair man ,that's an impressive win and no mistake ,must be honest and say i thought the best you would get was a point out of that one.

Now all you have to do ,a bit like ourselves is get a bit of consistancy to your game and then maybe you can class yourselves as championship contenders.

Ahhhhhh Andy G, is that what your team consider themselves? 7th, played 8, won 4, drawn 2, lost 2. Indeed, it would appear from the stats that your team has suffered from a little inconsistancy it's self. Did you not play out a draw at home against the mighty Leyton?

Billericay - Played 7, won 4, drawn 1, lost 2. I see little difference between our two sides apart from that we have a game in hand. Hmmmmm, surely then we can consider ourselves the same as wot you consider your team?

I don't believe I read that. Being very modest today are we?

Yep, Macca was superb, made a fantastic saving tackle after Dale had scuffed a clearance. Although i didnt think Dobson played particularly well i remember him making one superb challenge too.

Dobbo is still settling down into the role. He was quite impressive during the pre season but as we all know, when the season starts, it's different.

I thought yesterday was his best performance for us and I know people would like to see Tommo in the back four when either Macca or Sap's are out, I suppose you have to give another recognised centre back a chance to settle into the position.

I went yesterday hoping for at least a good performance from the players as I thought the attitude of the players was more important than the result. As it turned out it was a win win. A brilliant performance and an outstanding result against a very big experienced team.

I think Macca played really well yesterday and with Kerrigan (who also played really well) has been our most consistant performers all season. My man of the match has to go to Leon. The way he inspired the midfield yesterday, with blood dripping from his face (most players would have gone off) was something we have been missing in the last few games.

Gazza can i suggest you read my post's a bit slower, then maybe you'll read what's there instead of what you think that's there, did i not say all you need is to get a bit of consistancy like ourselves.
Bloody hell mate i come on here to give your side a bit of credit on a good result and you throw it down my throat.Gazza learn to take a compliment when it comes your way coz sure as hell you wont get many if that's the way you take it.
By the way Leyton are not a bad side believe me ,when you play them underestimate them at your peril.

I thought we thoroughly deserved our win having outplayed ETU in every area.

We started a little tentatively which is understandable given our recent results but imposed ourselves more and more as the game went on especially in the middle of the park and started playing some nice football in spells.

Good to see Nathan get a couple and Leon showed "good composure" to slot home the penalty. Agree that Macca was MOTM. I felt it was our best defensive performance as a unit this season, West and Boot didn't really get a sniff. Well done to Dale for a clean sheet, our first in the league this season, and perhaps Justin's hardest decision for Monday night will be who starts between the sticks.

Only downer was the various moaning ('Tache would have been proud of it) that you had to endure from the home support (if you could find them)...."Thought you'd be better than that" when you ve just been done 3-0 at home is a bit rich and people like webmaster etu moaning about the crowd (258, 83 more than any other home game for them this year bar Wimbledon) I find a bit strange. Mind you that was massively offset by the barmaids :~)

But anyway wheels back on the wagon, onwards and upwards, let's hope we can get another away win on Monday.

I'll echo everyones comments about McSweeney, he was superb. Quite a few others also put in thier best performance to date and when we play the ball on the deck the results are there for all to see. Congratulations also to Dormer for his 100th start for the club.

I'll ditto that and add that from what I've seen so far, we have the best football side in the league (as we did last season) so the message to the lads is, play the ball on the ground, let it do the work and the oppo chase the shadows...ETU were "gone" by 60 minutes which was the reason I think they started leaving the odd foot in...

Quality result and quality game (unless you read the NLP).
