i thought that i oughtta go down to the stadium tonite to count the proppa numbas....seems to me that alll yous fancy dans can't count...seein as i used to be a stuard at the ammers.. i knows alll abaat countin cuse theys told me to only count everey three goin in on accaant of the tax man...anyows...i caanted four proppa grown ups...six nutters...three old ladies, one woofta, two tramps, three ooligans and a squirrell. that makes an offisial gate of 22, sos i tells the gessa at the clubhaas me findins and then he declares 103, sais hes had ealth problems of late an e keeps seein things..... i tells im that e ought to see a docta an e sais wot about the band...i sais wot band an e sais are yu f*****g deaf..wot sorta way is that to speek to an elper...get wealdstone to caant yus number in futur.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/yelrotflmao.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/yelrotflmao.gif" alt="" />

sidney the wealdstone camel aka sid the yid is a well known borrower of fivers which he never pays back...he uses the fivers apparently to buy large amounts of carlsberg which he drinks and then stores in his massive frame for his nocturnal visits to other non league grounds on the basis that the 'beers not good enough and its to expensive anyway' (see moaners & groaners) sidney attempts to disguise himself on these trips by pretending to be a genuine footie supporter with scarf, shirt and rattle but all seasoned camel spotters can easily identify him by the large hump under his jacket and his big red snozzle. it is believed that to date sidney has run up over 200k in debts. He is also the cashier at his own club which probably explains why they have'nt got any dosh either.

your facts are spot on. Sidney the wealdstone camel aka sid the yid was in fact one of the best known ticket touts of the post war years, his father and granfather before him were also well known spongers on the north london footie scene. I last encountered sidney at the fa trphy semi between averly and wealdstone in 1963, even in those diays sidney used to attempt disguise by wearing pink two tone flairs, platform shoes and a skinny rib see through vest. we could always identify him of course, not neccessarily by the hump but also the sandwich board that he habitually wore to the games declaring 'the end is nigh, get rid of your fivers now' course, in those days a fiver was quite a lot of money and sidney was well known amongst the seedier soho flesh joints as he spent his ill gotten gains. Sadly, in recent years, sidney has been reduced to begging on the streets in an attempt to obtain money for his daily fuel requirements and also to buy a new footie ground for his club.
