What can I say, totally ashamed to call myself a Rebel, losing to a bum side like that, I expect the Non league paper and others will, quite rightly call it the giant killing act of the round.

And further humiliation, that side who beat us last game East Thurrock, were thrashed at home 3-0. Surely its time to act before we are down playing with the likes of Wroxham.

These things do happen in football its all part of taking part in the cup, upsets can and do happen. East Thurrock were beaten by Billericay a team that was in the play offs last year, so this proves absolutely nothing if people think negatively then what will happen to our club. Fans stick by their club through thick and thin, it is still early days in the league and there are other cups we are in. So get behind the boys

Wroxham fully deserved their win today and played like a side that wants to progress in the cup, unlike us who just couldnt get things going. I suppose we should be thankful for what we had last year and remember that the cup is more about getting the luck you need - we had a shot that pretty much ran across the line without going in!

We still have the FA Trophy to compete in and the chance to defend the league cup so all is not lost.

Hopefully today will spur the team on in the league too.

werent at the races today, a few chances but nothing to really trouble the opposition

WHY DO WE NEVER ATTACK CORNERS?!?!?!? one person in the 6 yard box and very little movement otherwise will never work

wilko shouldve gone off for harris at half time!

hodges and ballard were the two who stood out for me, while still being reasonably disappointing

good luck to wroxham, they wanted it and outplayed us

also, to those who are ready to criticise the players individually:

ITS A TEAM GAME, DONT ABUSE INDIVIDUALS JUST COS THEY DONT LIVE UP TO EXPECTATIONS!!

directed more at those who were insulting wilko for giving the ball away by them today, you know who you are

feel free to moan about the officials they were awful!

Too right Dan, although it has been mentioned before, some of the personal stick was on the increase again today. Wilko had a poor game, yes, but probably his first this season. To question his workrate and commitment is insulting and unfair. And, sorry to go back to the same example again, but the Mets situation is almost out of control. Mets, arguably Slough's best midfielder on the day, was replaced on 55 minutes while the score was 0-0 (a decision cheered by some fans on the touchline). Having lost the game 2-0, I boarded the coach only for someone to say to me, 'Why the hell was Metcalfe on the field for the first 55 minutes?'. This just serves to show me that people have blinkered opinions about certain players and won't give them a chance however well they play. Martin reminded me at the game about old boy Danny Bailey from the Conference days. 90% of fans from that time will remember Danny for being one of the best midfielders at that level of football at the time. However, the other 10% were those who slagged him off for 90 minutes everytime he took to the pitch. I try, and admittedly sometimes fail, to support all 11 players for 90 minutes. If I think a decision is wrong I will voice it, but once the players are on the pitch I will praise them for anything they do which deserves such acclaim. There was proof on Tuesday night and again today that there are frictions amongst groups of Slough fans, a situation that is not helping the clubs progression. However, I find it very difficult to converse with people who come to games and spend their whole time there abusing the same players week in week out, no matter how well they play. End of rant, and I shall see you all next Saturday when I shall be cheering on every single player who takes to the pitch. UP THE REBELS!!!!!

Absolutely gutted about today. Take nothing away from our hosts, they were superb on and off the pitch. Real nice set of supporters, except for the ones who thought it would be great to sstand as close in front of the camera as possible. Shame really, as it will detract from the DVD should they get it.

Same old Slough really. Back to the old problems. Long ball up to the front two, bypassing the midfield, and if they didn't win the header, as is often the case, the ball was being played in behind the wing backs and causing us problems.

The midfield two of Metcalfe and Wilkinson isn't working either. One needs to be sacrificed, and why oh why was Harris dropped? Still to be totally convinced by Alexis, although he is improving with each game, but still should not be starting ahead of Harris. I hope that Mason will be fit for next week because he at least was collecting the ball from the back and making things happen.

In attack, if we're going to play Seedel and Hodges, lets not play long ball all the time. Both of them are very useful with the balls to feet, and they will not win more than 25% of the aerial balls launched at them. Even when they did, the other wasn't ready to get to the flick on.

And how many times do we say this.... Shoot dammit.... Get the ball out wide and get some early crosses in or tee up the men on the edge to have a crack. Not as bad as some matches have been, but we do appear really shot shy. Every time we broke through today, it was right at the keeper. Do we not practice shooting or something?

Well done Wroxham and good luck.

If losing to Wroxham is losing to a "bum side" what must Walsall fans have called us last year? Grow up, we were beaten by the better team on the day, same as Walsall were last year.

Last year it was our turn, several times to put one over higher placed opposition. This time it was Wroxham's turn. Football is an art, not a science and you don't always win the games you should.

Days like today, and I think Wroxham more than deserved their victory, just go to make days like Walsall that bit sweeter. Good luck to them in the next round.

Well I would imaging that they called us a bum side, because we are.One of our main problems is the manager lacks ideas when things go wrong-and does not reconise who his best players are.

Well done to Wroxham, they deserved their victory and good luck to them in the next round, will watch out for how they do. I think to call them a "Bum-side" when you can't have been at the game is a bit of an insult and to suggest that they are Giant killers shows a somewhat inflated opinion of ourselves.

I think people sharing the view of the initial poster need to get real. How much of a 'shock' is this result in the grand scheme of things? It's not. At this stage of the FA Cup, anyone can beat anyone. The fact that they're the equivalent of two leagues below us means nothing, and we're not the first team from a higher league to come a cropper at Wroxham. A draw would have been a good result for us. Don't get me wrong though, I'm absolutely gutted at the result, as I'm sure the players are.

We had a ridiculous amount of luck with the home draws last season and it couldn't last forever (plus we had a better team overall last season IMO). The likelihood is that we'll get into the latter qualifying stages and competition proper again in the future; for Wroxham, it'll probably be a much rarer occurence so good luck to them this season. They deserved it today as they seemed to want it more, which sounds ridiculous given the highs our players experienced last season.

I'm not personally going to get into the whole Metcalfe debate but Eddie Denton is getting it seriously wrong (IMO) if he's picking Alexis over a fully-fit Glen Harris. If everyone's fit, I'd like to see Harris, Wilkinson and Mason given a try as the central midfield three.

Same old defensive mistakes and lack of efforts on goal but this has all been covered before... what can we do except hope that this is being worked on in training? I just hope it's improved sooner rather than later.

Not meaning to sound like sour grapes, but I thought the performance of the officials was a little disappointing to say the least - I thought the referee missed several fouls on our players (but also gave a couple of questionable decisions our way). Still a fully deserved victory for Wroxham though.

SPR, why would being involved in a relegation battle be a disgrace? Our wage bill was slashed over the summer with a few players leaving and we've had to rebuild. Most people, being realistic, will be happy simply staying at this level, and as for being the league cup holders, how many teams actually go out to win the competition? Not too many. Great, we won it, and it was fantastic achievement to do so, but it counts for little this season.

The better side on the day was Wroxham, and they deserved to win. These things happen, just ask Spurs, Man City etc.

The main thing is that the club and players use days like these as example of what happens when the team has a bad day.

That is what happens when midfield and defensive players back off and let the opposition run at them, and it happens at every level of the game, especially if one of the teams is REALLY up for the game, and can claim a scalp.

We need to remember what has happened and use it as a force to get back our passing and running game, when we do that we are a very good side.

Yes, we are all completely gutted at the moment, but it's behind us now, and all we can do as fans is look forward and give our whole-hearted support at the next game.

On the train journey home, we had many conversations, but one that comes to mind was about a player saying that when they hear their name chanted by us fans, it really gives them a confidence boost. So let's be there on Saturday and be as noisy as we can.

Really gutted about the result however we were beaten by the better team on the day and a team who evidently wanted it more.

Eddie and the players will know they should have done better so lets show our support and encourage the boys as we try to climb the league.

Well done Wroxham and good luck in the next round!

Firstly, well done Wroxham and good luck for the future.

I have to agree I'm mystified as to why Glen Harris was on the bench, given the choice I don't think anybody would choose Alexis before a fit Glen Harris.

And I do agree that I think it's time to break up the Metcalf/Wilkinson midfield partnership. They are, IMO, too similar in that they both lack pace and often both drop off too deep allowing the opposition midfield too much space to attack our defence.

I would like to see the four in midfield being Harris, Mason, Woodruffe, Metcalf or Wilko.

I'm also not too sure that playing Daly, Ballard and Avery together works (again three similar players who like to win the ball in the air)so we could even leave Woodruffe as an attacking wing back and push Ballard into midfield.
