Scally (again!)

Hempstead Gaz

Recommended Posts

Did anyone hear Scally spewing up on RK tonite about his (still) planned moved to Ebbsfleet.

This buffoon still harbours ideas that we would want to share his 35,000 seater astrodome, as it would benefit both teams.

Cannot really see how playing to 33,500 empty seats in a stadium where hollow shouts would echo around would benefit us, but then again, it was the plank Scally who thought it would!

What he also said does fly in the face of what Cllr Burden has gone public by saying - extracted from Chas Webster's report on the Club site and the Distorter) :

He praised the work of Fleet Chairman Brian Kilcullen and his directors before addressing the issue of Gillingham’s interest in moving to the club’s back yard. “If any club in the country approaches us with a planning proposal to bring that club to the borough we have to consider it, but we are Gravesham and our local club is Gravesend & Northfleet. Our prime interest is Gravesend & Northfleet Football Club and securing their future. The way Gillingham are playing at the moment the clubs could be playing each other next year.

“ I haven’t spoken to Gillingham for five months but I hold monthly meetings with representatives of Gravesend & Northfleet.”

As an aside, who the hell does Melody Ryall think she is.

"It's the Distorter wot done it".

Never has the Distorter sunk so low in trying to blow its own trumpet, when the entire universe knows ALL the work was done by Brian, the Fleet Board, Jess and the Trust, Dave H, Ed Miller, Mike M, and hopefully all of us who wrote personal, individual letters and e-mails to Cllr Burden.

Did not hear the interview but can imagine the drift, what can you expect, i love the Fleet and the Gill's, blame my Grandad Johnson for that problem.

I have heard recently that the Temple Marsh site may be on, also at Gills on Tuesday a mate of mine said another option was Maidstone, really all this is rubbish, i do not like the way Scally is taking Gills, and the wall being put between two GREAT CLUBS who have a lot of history and friendship between them.

On another issue 35000 stadium, good lord Gills had less than 5000 for the visit of a premiership side, mind you Pompey were may i say it Cxxx.

My god, 350000 stadium, Gills could not fill the ground with Pompey, mind you they were Cxxx, unfortunatly when you support both clubs god it is hard, i do not like the SCALLY issue on Fleet, tell you what Harry, do not know you from Adam but if Gills draw Chelsea i will buy you a ticket for row H Rainham End, or my Business will, mind you if we draw Newcastle at home i will have to buy my business partner a ticket she is a Geordie.

I though Fleet fans made it quite clear we dont want the gills here. His interview made me so angry, I nearly crashed the car. Get this through your head scully, we don't want your 2 bit club here. Gravesend and Northfleet is for Gravesend and Northfleet fans.

Quote:
Charlton, West Ham and the like are well supported from our area and always have been.

Disagree - Grew up in Swanscombe and only bumped into local Charlton fans a few years ago, there were none at school.

Publicity and persuasion works if. And if we don't fight the premiership clubs it will engulf us, but it aint a fore gone conclusion. If Charlton were to go out the premiership there will be loads of so called fans looking for other clubs to support.

However they will be coming to the Fleet rather than the Gills.

The simple proof is how many of these hordes of Charlton fans used to make the regular trips to Selhurst Park?

Not many, judging by the attendance figures in those days.

Plastic, 'Premiership bandwagon'ing 'let's support Charlton because it's the only way we'll get to see Liverpool & Man Utd play at a reasonable price' springs to mind.

Fair play to Charlton though - they've marketed well.

 • 2 weeks later...

scally's problems appear to be mounting up. Even his supporters are turning against him.

Extracted from the BBC-Kent-Sport-Gillingham forum:

"This current Gillingham side without doubt in my opinion are the smallest and weakest side that have played at Priestfield for many years. Niel Cooper must feel so depressed about the his mission impossible job, the poor guy gives the job his best shot and has to stand and watch his team depelated of any class players perform like a bunch of headless chickens. Hess has shown the others the way, but even his head is dropping. How much longer have the loyal Gillingham faithfull got to put up with this third rate team? Mr Sculley wake up and get your check book out before its to late.NEXT STOP DIVISION TWO."

and:

"I can honestly say, I have yet to see a game this season at Gillingham in the (league), where by we have played good quality football for more than 20 minutes. I don't understand why we don't play to our strengths. Pass the ball on the ground, and run at people down the flanks. I have only seen glimmers of this, for instants the "sitter" that Harris had was a good move, it had energy in the attack and for once we actually broke pass the back 4. Our footballing is poor, I'm not knocking the team, but somebody must point out that, what we are currently producing is NOT doing us any favours. It's a shame we have some key injuries, but even fielding our best 11, we look lack lustered and slow for at least 65 minutes of a game. We are capable of so much more, we can pick up the pace and we can score goals, but the urgency only comes when we are goal down and chasing for a draw. I'm hoping Mr Cooper, will re-build the teams confidence, Tell the lads that they can play good football, get them passing the ball to feet and reproduce the good stuff I see in training and get it out on the pitch. My other point is I don't think I've seen too many teams that are generally any better than us in this division. Southend didn't really create as much as "Forest". In fact I thought they were quite ordinary. To sum up, our footballing has to improve and with it the goals will come. Please Mr Cooper make the changes now. Give the team back it's belief. !!"
