In March 2002 BDC were required to carry out a consultation with residents all over Basildon in preparation of The Local Plan. They commited themselves (in writing) to include that consultation in the plan.

Any proposals outside that plan are unlikely to proceed.

Issue 15 Option 7 of the key issues report refers directly to development of parks and open spaces "should not be allowed to happen". If BDC are working within their own guidlines and the law then this development will not be allowed to proceed.

In any case I have just been told by the planning Dept that the application will go to committe so local people will be allowed to present evidence and this makes a challenge not only likely but probable.

Now will someone tell us the contingency.

In the same plan land highlighted by locals as suitable for development are

Cornerways

Western Lodge

Bowers Gifford

and 3 Acres at The Wick

I have not yet seen this sites but it is a start, does anyone know if they have been looked at.

dear mr mobrien

i am all for free speech and putting forward your point of view which you have now done on numerous occassions . there can be no doubt which side of the fence you sit on and indeed that you are passionate in your beliefs.

however at the end of the day the majority of the people who use and view this forum are primarily interested in football, something which you seem to have little interest in.

im sure you would have to agree that if you are really interested in the various ins and outs, contingency plans etc etc, you would get a much more informed response by writing to the chairman of the football club direct and or stadia management, and basildon council.

any thoughts on how the team might do on saturday given their current form????

Best reply yet, I have said all along the object is to save the club which is what it is all about and to generate interest by my fellow supporters as a lone voice will be ignored. As for saturday 3-0 to us with an excellent defensive display from Ollie is the prediction.

Totally agree with JL. If you feel this strongly please write to the Council/Club/Stadia Management/Jim'll Fix It/Point of View. Having said that, you've probably done that - several times.

Whilst we all have an interest in this no matter what our personal point of view is, this is a FOOTBALL forum. We've got a big FA Cup match on Saturday and I would much rather read the thoughts on this than from fellow fans rather than read your drivel every bloody day.

Whilst we're talking about that game with a round ball that we all love, am I the only person who thought Adedeji was poor on Saturday?

Not wishing to pour cold water on the 3 - 0 but take into consideration who we are playing. Boringtree. 11 men behind the ball and they will go for the draw. We have yet to prove that we can actually breakdown this style of play this season.

Now some may think I am not being very positive but I think I'm being realistic. Yep, I'll be shouting from the Cow Shed and supporting the Blues in my usual manner but I think 1-0 to us is more realistic and I won't be surprised if we have to make the trek up to Boringtree.

But it would be nice to tuck those farmers up for once!!!!

I agree with Paul J, Adedeji did not have a good game on Saturday. He did not look match fit and did not jump for the ball once. Why do we change a winning team ?

Point taken you will all be pleased to hear I will now shut up!!! Unless invited to comment further by comment.

Ever one to disagree Gary 3-0 that defence is not that good,

Plenty of stuff to repsond to here:

1stly a couple of quick mobrien points - Issue 15 of the key issues plan refers to new housing development. The plan was always going to go to commitee - all major new developments do. I would bet that the sites you mention have been earmarked for new housing.

I very much recommend that you take some time on Saturday to go and have a chat with Rod or John Stacey to raise your concerns and ask about alternative sites and the "contingency plan" that you seem so concerned about.

2ndly Some football points woohoo! I thought Adedeji did OK on saturday, as said elsewhere I thought that a combination of the loss of Willo and the 3 at the back system combined to cause our problems. With nobody able to hold up play in midfield by making tackles in the way Willo does, Adedeji and Mooro were frequently left exposed.

Saturday is going to be very tough and I think the first goal is crucial. If we can score early doors that will make Boretree abandon the flat back 10 formation and gaps might appear for the Grahams to exploit on the flanks. The longer the game goes on, the more likely it is that only 1 goal will decide it.

Don't forget you can also E:Mail your views on the move or any other subject to "Where's the Vaseline?" (Billericay's biggest selling independent fanzine!). Please remember to include your FULL NAME to any comments. E:Mail: ryanbllrcy@aol.com

For the life of me I don't understand why we have just bought another centre half when we have a more than capable one getting splinters on the bench. It wasn't that long ago that Juho was so highly thought of by the management they offered him a one year contract. Also I'd have Joe Baker and Scott Forrester back like a shot. Very impressed with DJ on saturday but can't say the same about Adedeji. There's only one way to beat soporific, dreary teams like Braintree, and that's attack!

I know it's only Tuesday but how about this for a side:

1.JJ

2.Penn

3.Kerrigan

4.Moore

5.Rantala

6.Carthy/ or Willo if fit

7.M.Graham

8.R.Graham

9.Fewings

10.DJ

11.Baker

Brennan, Willo/Carthy, Essendoh, Adedeji, Forrester

i agree big time on rantala...for your guide i think he was actually offered a 2 year deal but decided to only take a one year deal!!! think adedeji did ok but did fade badly 2nd half as clearly short of match practice...

my tuppenceworth for saturday is

1. jj

2. mcdonald

3. kerrigan

4. rantala

5. moore

6. williams

7. r graham

8. brennan

9. fewings

10. essandoh

11. m graham

4-4-2

subs.

fay (gk), penn, carthy, campbell, baker (will never be seen again in a town shirt) - think those five would cover every eventuality

If everyones is fit, available or not wasting away on loan in Buckinghamshire, I would play 4-4-2 as this is when we have played our best this season:

GK) JJ

RB) Penn

LB) Kerrigan

CB) Moore

CB) Ranatala

RM) M Graham

CM) Willo

CM) Brennan

LM) Baker

F) Essandoh

F) Fewings

Subs - R Graham, DJ, Adedeji, Carthy & another Keeper.

You're right, we mustnt fall into their trap and concede early, otherwise it'll be 10 men behind the balltime again. My side would be:

JJ

Russell

Kerrigan

Juho

Mooro

Mark Graham

Brennan

Willo

Joe

Essandoh

Campbell

Subs: Graham jnr, Carthy, Adedeji, Fewings, Fay

Have I missed something? Why is everyone listing Joe Baker in their teams. I know he is not allowed to play for Aylesbury in the Cup, but he is not going to be back is he?
