Robbed by the Ref!

Duke of York

The Referee was an absolute joke tonight. Can it be true that the reason he made the penalty that KK saved so well was ue to fans putting their taker off?

The delay in explaining the decision can't have helped Jonny Morgan's preparation for our next kick.

If you didn't manage to get down tonight, I can confirm we lost 5-4 on penalties.

Towards the end of the game Ken made a great penalty save for another dodgy decision from the ref - he had it in for Town.

Roll on Friday night - 'Large Portions Town!'

That's tdiePend tHAT rEFEREE HA

Okay we lost, but let's get real. Town were awful tonight ( so were wivwehoe for that matter ).

Yes the penalty was a poor decision, but justice was done with a fine save.

As for the penalty shoot-out the assistant ref told the Ref that our keeper was moving. So, what happens next ? Our keeper moved 2 feet forward and then made a great save, BUT, he did move forward.

The Ref had a poor evening, but he did get THAT decision right.

We can only hope for a better performance on Friday.

Based on tonight, with several changes, the team need a lift and perhaps a bit of a kick up the backside.

Please, let's not go there.

If your team do not score you cannot start blaming the Referee.

As stated earlier, he had a poor game.....BUT....so did the Town players.

In my opinion it was the worst performance for a couple of seasons, at least.

It wasn't all bad.

I thought that the centre half had an impressive debut and may be the find of the season.

As for the ref. I did not think he was too bad seemed to allow a lot of handballs. I didn't think that the penalty given in normal time was a penalty and if it was, why didn't the ref at least take the offender's name? If the lino says the goalkeeper moved forward before the ball was kicked then the kick has to be retaken however it was unreasonable to debate the whole affair for a couple of minutes and to add insult delay even further to speak to Andy who then had to go to the lino and the member of the crowd. Surely that could have been dealt with after the penalty had been taken!

Agree with your summing up Steph.

On another thread - League Cup - Andy states that the Lino was upset at the crowd SHOUTING at him !

Be warned...games will soon be called off if the crowd SHOUT ! ! !

Having said all that....the keeper did move.

It was very much an experimental side.

Ken in goal

Adam Gant, Dave Allen (Substituted by Paul Campbell, New centre half name not known (Substituted mid second half by Johnny Morgan), Steve Baldwin, Mat Negus (appears to have recaptured his best form), Dean Nyman (not his best game missed a sitter Brian Hammet the provider), Steve Velandra (good in parts), Brian Hammet, Lee Smith, Brad Brotherton (Had a reasonable game).

Somebody else was substituted but I cannot remember.

Note No Russell Penn, No Rudi Hall, No Dean Green.

Ref was............Stephen Fay..acording to the prog.

He reffed our game with Great Wakering last Saturday. I thought he had a fairly decent game at our place. Not particularly outstanding, perhaps, but no major problems during the game. A fairly decent referee, I thought, and a damn sight better than the chappie I saw at your game on Friday night. Mr. Fay is doing a couple of Conference South games next month so the FA must think quite highly of him.

PBT .. As noted earlier. Ref nothing special and in my view, he had a poor night.....but again, as stated earlier .....so did the majority of the Town team.

Just one of those nights.

The penalty shoot out fiasco was down to the moaning Lino, sorry, Assistant Referee, who got upset at the crowd SHOUTING at him.

Nuff said I think.

Unless you know what was shouted at the lino you can't really pass an opinion.

I heard it but I wont repeat it here.

Not the right time of place to tell but things like it have NO place at a football game.
