Not so easy! We (York City) will hardly get a mention with so much other footie on tonight.

 

I went down to GR anyway. Did you get down there Gazza? If not, I can confirm Town were robbed by the ref. I understand the reason for the retaken kick was due to the fans behind the goal putting their penalty taker off! Can this be true? I've never heard of anything so stupid.

 

York City drew 1-1 with a last minute equaliser for Dagenham & Redbridge.

Assistant ref' did not like the way he was being shouted out. Bless him!

 

Season tickets do not include cup games as it is very difficult to gauge the total number of home games. Take for instance a season ticket with 24 games, which includes three minor cup games. You pay for 24 games, we play 21 home league games, but we get drawn away in the minor games! You lose out.

 

It was different last year because of the nature of the cup competitions.

I thought it was good of the Wivenhoe fans to confirm our view that both keepers were equally guilty (or innocent) of moving off the goal line. The assistant seemed pretty pedantic about it all, it seemed to me. Fine if we have him again and get a penalty; not much good if we concede one, I guess.

 

There were two key issues for me, though. It appeared that after the second (I think) penalty that the assistant spoke to the referee about Ken's positioning. As it had been converted no action was required, but it would have been helpful to Ken and perhaps the crowd if something had been said at that point. Waiting for and penalising when it happens again and the shot is saved seems pretty unhelpful to me.

 

Secondly, when the referee decided to march over to the corner to fetch Andy to deal with the alleged abuse he was receiving (why did he think the shout of '[****!!****]' was particularly aimed at him?), he should surely have sent Johnny back to the centre circle. Waiting on the penalty spot with the ball in your hand for a good two or three minutes must have an impact on the likelihood of scoring.

WHAT ?? You can't even call him a [****!!****] ?

I think in retaliation you should have a sponsored "Silence" for the whole game.

Offer everyone a free drink in the bar unless they're caught saying something during the game.

 

It'll give the "stewards" something to do to listen for all the language, and it'd make all the Officials listen to themselves.

 

Perhaps they'd then appreciate what idiotic decisions they make and if you could get the players to follow suit and not question any decision.

We'ed take all the wind out of their sails, then they'd be exposed for what they are.

Is this just pure fantasy ?

 

( probably, sorry to bother you all I've just finished a bottle of Red wine )
