just got ba ck myself. what a difference inthe last twenty minutes. we ran them ragged but generally not a good performance. two well taken goals and we could have snatched it. CK not happy afterwards says it was shoddy. fortunately the two goals were very well taken. the free kick goal superb. yep about 80 there for gate at what is a lucky ground for me. never seen us losr there. weird seats at one end terrace at the other. very nice pitch. kola thigh again says he might be fit for sat. oatsy missing due to serious illness of mum but back sat. good comeback. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Thanks geoff. Lets hope Mrs Oates gets well soon and that Kola makes a recovery as well.

Ive got to admit, tonight has made me more of a fan of Margate than any other game. The Maldon Town and Ramsgate games were great but I think tonight I really felt what it was like to be a Margate fan. It was so exciting and especially with the news with the second Margate goal. Tonight was something special.

We made a cracking start and had them on the back foot. For the first 10 minutes it looked very promising. Kola got injured - looked like a recurrence of his injury, he went straight down and then indicated he should come off. We lost it from that point and looked pretty disorganised. Sacha was the turning point - came on totally up for it, was all over the pitch, made the free kick, and then grabbed the ball, no-one else was going to have it! Beautiful curling shot into the net over the wall, which might have not been there for all the good it did. Worth the trip to Bromley just to see. His coming on changed the game but he was everywhere putting it about - caused Bromley no end of trouble and lifted our lads. Second goal well worked from the left, beautifully taken by McGowan - others said Remy but I am sure it was he. One other incident comes to mind was a clear penalty from holding tugging obstructing and grabbing Watson that the ref was totally blind to.

Big opportunity missed in not having a fighting midfield, at times we ran them a bit ragged there when we did play passing football and how we could have done with Pat and Greg. They were a bit hack and slash to tell you the truth, and fond of the long ball up.

I would mention Bill, McGowan and Hasim in dispatches though, very good tonight. And I think this may have been a game that could have benefitted from Burke making an appearance.

But on the whole, cor blimey, what a climb back!

One of best free kicks i've seen.

I think curling free kick does it a diservice as it had power aswell .Better than the best of Clarke and Oates.

As MF says, Mcgowan also took his goal well-hit it well and kept it down whereas many strikers would have blasted it high. Also was fair bit of pressure to score as we were not exactly making a load of chances !!Credit to Bill Edwards aswell for his cross from the right(best cross all night) which led to theball finding McGowan.

Boy did we get out of jail tonight though !!

Still don't think there is much missing-Gradley badly missed to calm things down in midfield and make the simple but effective short passes.

Also compared with early season where Hasim played in front of the defence, with him either in central defence of lright back as per tonight, we are not cutting out alot of balls before they get to the defence.Hasim cut them out early and thus took pressure off defence .Think those two roles make the biggest difference. If it was me, i would put Hasim back to defensive midfield ,even if that weakens the defence as at least it would cut out alot of play reaching defence in first place.
