This is great news... It will be a shame to move away from Stonebridge road.. But it could be teh impetus we need to make a name for ourselves in the local community and get the borough and surrounding areas following all things Fleet.

 

well done to all concerned. It just shows that despite looking a shambles , we are getting things right.

 

Just need to get more thru the turnstiles now.

Now for the words of caution.

 

I'm intrigued as to where Gravesham Borough Council intend to find the money. Considering this week week that they have also announced a £20million investment in transport (with a news article suggesting they plan to knock down Gravesend station - a listed building that meant we weren't even allowed to install ticket barriers!) & also huge investment in other sectors of Gravesend.....

 

.....have they built up a large reserve through over-charging on council tax (answer: no, as the reserves are reportedly at a near all-time low) or (more likely) even bigger council tax hikes are on the way?

Well part of it will, the Stadium will be a public/private partnership, although at this stage I don't know who will be providing what.

Dear FF, the station needs to be re-modelled to accommodate the new trains that will link Gravesend to Ebbsfleet International.

 

In addition, Darnley Road and the road bridge will need to be moved. I think you'll find that the money for this will not be funded by Gravesham BC alone.

Need to add my bit, fantasic news, thanks to Gravesham Council, will be sorry to leave Stonebridge Road and the great times but we must move on and upwards.

Already aware of the bridge business & have been for months. The article that I read suggests the wholesale knocking down on the station is planned!
