match report V Braintree

unusual but honestly felt Matt I can not agree with your comments in the match report

Our GK was superb

Most rarely Ben had an off day and in particular going missing and placing extra last minute strain on Wardy who had an excellent game

Crow was throughout the best distributor of the the ball and kept pressure going forward at every opportunity

BUT slow? no I cannot recollect a single one on one when outpaced and in fact he continually turned their right wing attacks inside

Crow apart from Wardy is as quick if not quicker than any other defender on the books

what did happen is that when going forward the heavy Braintree booted clearances where delevered wide down both flanks leaving CIFC defenders stranded

4 at the back should always leave cover but desperate attempts to force a score determined the big clearance hitting us thin at the back

BUT if you recollect correctly BTFC clear scoring chance breaks were on all occassions down the middle

Ben will have very few off days

Wardy will always be good old reliable

Crow needs more than two games to be match fit but I believe served the team very well on Saturday

Thanks for your comments regarding the match report that we published on the website on Saturday night. Both Matt and I write the report as we see the game, often picking up comments from the fans who stand around us. However, it's always interesting to hear about the game from other fans' perspectives and your observations are extremely welcome (whether we agree with them or not).

Anyone else have a view on this one? We'd be glad to hear it.

ist half we were great.. then they equalised.. then as in common with all teams with 'ee' in their name the footy was over.. throws ins require a 4 man debate, goal kicks left enough time to get a beer in n drink it and as for anyone getting touched.. im sure one of em shouted 'medic' private ryan style at one stage... having said all that they should have won the game, i may not like it but it works, braintree are good enough to get bk into the top half, shame for them they didnt get reinault back

Basically i think Braintree's goal was scored at the worst possible time. Just before the half time break meant that canvey went into the dressing room on a low, and didn't show any enthusiasm in the 2nd period of wanting to play like we all know they can. Substitutions made no difference and all fans were just waiting for the final whistle - well those fans that stayed to the end that is.

Yeah Merv you heard the pabird.

Stand somewhere else from time to time, like next to Brayley's Mother. I'm sure she'll tell you how she felt certain players performed.
