and i am not at all impressed by the football i have seen(hopefully the 2nd half of blackburn v newcastle will be better)

I can't remember there being a decent premiership game so far this season

i have seen some decent performances from west ham

and middlesboro and wigan on the opening day,but the standard so far seems pretty woeful

i shall watch the two la liga games tonight and will no doubt(in my mind) see more attacking and exciting football,i don't think the premiership is the best league at all anymore, there just seems to be too many average players on over inflated salaries, what does anyone else think

As i type this blackburn have a decent shot on goal in first ten seconds of second half,(oh well,we live in hope)

3 goals in a game,but it wasn't a classic by all accounts

the esl seems to be more exciting than the drivel we are being served up in premiership at the moment!!

and the sending off of taylor, what was that about,if mike riley would of refereed at burnham yesterday they would of had to stop the game due to not having enough players on the pitch!!

ive been to all 3 west ham home games .west ham were brilliant against blackburn and villa ....we lost against bolton who are so boring they just get everyone behind the ball and stop you playing,,blackburn were ok in the 1st half ,,villa were [****!!****],,,,ive been to 5 hx games this season and i think the standard is very high ,,its certainly better value than the prem. £42 or £52 for a ticket at west ham the club have you by the boll'cks you either pay the prices or dont watch your team ,thats pretty sad at the end of the day ,,,ill be there on tuesday come you urchins

i got offered a ticket for arsenal v everton tommorrow but cant be bothered to go,arsenal do play good football but everton are pathetic, the fact they finished fourth last season sums up how i feel about the premiership,i think also that the players are pampered by the referee in the prem, they stop fluent play and give yellows for the most tamest challenges, for £5 the esl is much better value and more of a laugh, you can stand with who you want and don't see players like pires and ronaldo diving everywhere, also you rarely see players asking for other players to be booked or sent off!!

Unfortunately you're right ESL, I had a great night at WHU, but had to leave early because of you know what and although it still gives me a buzz, I get a bigger kick out of watching HX, the chorus in the bar yesterday was top drawer, they didn't know what hit them but in fairness were pleased that they were doin a good trade.

i can understand west ham fans thinking the premiership is great at the moment but in all fairness i can't remember a game where two teams have had a right go at each other, the west ham v villa game was a good result for the hammers but as a specticle there was only one team that turned up

i don't think half the players really care if they win or lose, just care about there £30'000 a week wages

i know a few chelsea fans who stayed away midweek, they didn't want to pay 45-50 quid for a ticket in what is really the preliminary round

i wouldn't pay that much to watch chelsea anyway,no offence to chelsea but they are a dull side with a few superstars, but once they have scored the game is usually over

very boring indeed

just went out to get some fags and on talksport ray houghton was saying that the only refreshing site in the premiership this season is that two of the three promoted sides ie west ham & wigan at least try to attack teams as often as possible, they were moaning about the negative play seen in prem this year

wigan drew with boro 1-1 today but it sounded a lot better game

I saw Scotty Houghton make his one and only West Ham 1st team appearance in 1983 at Highbury, came on as sub, trouble was even though he was the Ressies' top scorer, there was a dearth of midfielders then so he was released to Fulham as Johnny Lyall in his own interests. Top bloke though and a fine player.

Wigan? Don't get anything for a pier!

To quote JL at the time he was released for his own benefit and that;s the gentleman side of JL who always considered the career paths of younger players, unfortunately JL did not have that ruthless streak that you need at that level, but he was and still is very well respected in the game for his honesty.
