Eastside or Riverside ???

Greetings all. I have been following the fortunes of the Urchins for many years but attend only from time to time, not really standing or sitting in any specific spot. As I would like to up my attendance could I please have your views and pro's and con's on whether I should stand in the Eastside or sit in the Riverside on a regular basis...

Well generally, most of this forum is the Eastside, so no ones really going to say Riverside. Come join the nut house.

well its certainly a different culture either side of the emerald green carpet...(although as a regular riversider I do detect a stirring amongst the seated ones <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />)....perhaps you could try both before making a decision...either way you will be more than welcome..

I converted many seasons ago from the riverside to the Eastside.

3 reasons for the move ..... better atmosphere, my son got to an age when he didn't need to sit down and it was closer to the bar!

Uncle Urchin is right that there is a stirring amongst the seated ones;however i have always put down to the onions in the burgers.I am now a proud member of the Riverside Stirrers.

when i bring the other half we sit in the riverside ,,stood in the eastside for the 1st time v stansted ,,what a great atmosphere ,,will certainly be ther again on tuesday ,im the little short fat one with glasses and short hair ,,,,,careful dont make me angry!!!!!!!!!

i much prefer the eastside as i can sing to my hearts content and all me mates are over there

in my youth i used to sit or stand on the riverside bench's where with about 20 or so of my cronies we used to create a bit of atmosphere(but i am going back 15-16 years then)

The Riverside has the added advantage of listening to the opposition bench moan, better cup of tea, you can say hello to uncle, better seats and you can hear the eastside better.

The Eastside is closer to the bar, the shop and they serve chips.

 

But no matter what side you go, the football is excellent.

i am setting the riverside a challenge

over the next two or three home games we want to hear the riverside singing(yes singing!!!)

perhaps we could have a

"we're the eastisde,we're the eastside,we're the eastside of the bridge"

followed by

"we're the riverside,we're the riverside,we're the riverside of the bridge"

I was born bald and have stayed that way. I was the one who kept kicking the ball into touch, my thinking was whilst it was out there the opposition couldn't score

Yes played with FP, a good player and great entertainment, always good for a jamaican woodbine at half time.

FP went to school with my Bruv in Law, those were the days before the ol' club house was burnt down supposedly by kids who supposedly did the same thing down the road.

all our money/wages were payed directly to the bar fund so couldn't say. We did stop drinking before the game towards towards the end

i was gutted when the old clubhouse was burnt down,they used to do a lovely cheap pint or two in there,me and ingle used to go in there 3-4 nights a week
