Hampton and staines still going well, although we should be able to catch them as the season progesses. Bit of a shock to see AFC Wombles lose at home. Nothing is won or lost in september, still plenty of time to put it right, and I cant see anyone running away with it this year.

Its possible Just possible (before you shoot me down in flames) your management with their "we're going to win it" approach has unecessarily burdened the players. When expectations are too high, the jitters set in. I believe to set the stall out in the manner Edinburgh did was over the top and he has to shoulder as much blame as anyone. Its alright shouting the players are not doing what they should be doing, but its he who is signing players, coaching them and then picking the side.

Well...hmmm...lets see and speaking personally, I think that is a real "[****!!****]" of an opinion because it certainly didn't hinder us on the first three games.

And, I would rather have a manager who is ambitious than someone that goes around and say's, "We're in for a shout for mid table lads or top ten". Inspirational stuff that. That'll certainly motivate the whole club to better things.

Sorry Ozzie, gonna trash that one. Good try on the being reasonable stakes though. All though it won't go un noticed that you've given us the benefit of your infinate wisdon whilst we're, at present, down in the dumps. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

The first half was poor. I thought we went out there almost as if it was an away fixture with neither Hunter nor Thomas getting beyond halfway and 0-0 at half-time was not a major surprise, although we did have Danny K to thank for kicking one off the line.

In the second half again we have gifted them a goal, losing possession on halfway and their forward runs half the length of the pitch unchallenged and I'm afraid to say that Mel has again let a routine save through his hands. In his defence he did later make a fine one on one stop. Once we went one down we started playing and in the next 15 minutes or so we must have created 5 or 6 really good chances. Oh why oh why couldn't we have played like that from start?? Their second goal was an excellent finish when we had players committed upfield so not too concerned about that.

Unfortunately it seems to be our senior players that are not quite at the races at the moment. With no disrespect to our recent oppo. most of us would have hoped for more than one point from games against Harrow, Maldon and Walton. Last season our "bouncebackability" was one of strongest assets. We really need to show this now, the October fixture list looks challenging and we cannt afford (in every sense) many more of these results.

Gazza calm down. Where is your sense of humour. We lost but will win again. The title is still up for grabs for the mighty Billericay. Ozbrit has come on to get a rise from you and you have eaten into his palms.

I agree FOTB I think once the confidence is back with the players then we will be back on the winning trail and this so called string of bad results will be long forgotten.

As I have said before I think this is a poor run of form and we have the players we need, when we start playing well and with a bit more understanding we will be one of the best teams in the league and winning it is still a very distinct possibilty.
