WE were crap. Enough of the excuses.Midfield needs getting right. Players need to step up a gear and move around more.Too mant statues out there.

2 goals against the run of play,a 5 or 6 shot mellee in their box and a missed lob. That was the strength of our attack.

They on the other hand had kids that worked, ran, supported and could hold, pass and control the ball.Their defence was there for the taking. We couldnt do that.A defeat by 6-2 or 6-3 could have left us with no complaints.

God help us when we meet the GOOD teams.

Time to push up and attack instead of allowing oppositions to run all over us. We should be taking the the game to them rather than the other ay round.

We gained a point today rather than lose two.

you lot must be watching a different game to me. Margate were dire. After scoring the 2 goals they lost all formation and to be honest lacked any idea. If we don't start performing a lot better this will be the last 800 plus crowd we will get for a league game this season other than the Wimledon game when whats left of the Margate support about 300 by then I reckon will be outnumbered by 3 to 1

totolly agree ralph apart from first 20 mins we had no idea at all.the midfield is non existant remy and hilaire look ok but had no service at all.and whats happened to greg oates he used to be a great player but is now poor. he now reminds me of paul lamb very slow and laboured.a truly terrible 2nd half performance in front of a good crowd

I think gregs injury problems are starting to tell on him physicaly, he is lacking a yard or two of pace maybe he can regain it in time.

One can only hope as he really is a brilliant player on his day.

I must admit being an oats fan im worried just how unfit he looks he was beaten on pace by just about everyone yesterday.

I really hope its just a fitness problem and not due to injury <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Both full backs struggle to get back when they push forward so we often get caught out and expose ourselves to crosses. Oates in particular doesnt seem to have any burst of pace to get back. Green likes to attack A LOT and oftens realises their winger has occupied the hole left and he has no hope of getting near him meaning it is down to the centre backs to deal with their whole attack.

I noticed our full backs were struggling even when 2-0 up. Surely something tactical should have been in place to ensure we didnt need to push on as much at this stage in the game.

I didn't see Brown against Cowes but maybe he is a better prospect than Oates now at wing back.

In the same way why dont the midfield move up faster to help out those up front when the ball is played forward. Then they should be picking the ball up when its pushed out from defence, hence keeping the pressure on at their end.We need some midfielders that are going to run all day and get stuck in more.

The whole team lack ball control.Perhaps CK should be looking at that more in training.

It was commented last week that Standen was taking the corners against Cowes and putting good balls in. This left oates free to get into a more defensive position if needed. Yesterday Oates was taking corners again and on a number occasions had to run from the corner diagonally across the entire pitch to defend a Slough attack. No wonder he is tiring.

There is no rule that corners have to be inswinging, so Standen may just aswell take them from both sides. As we are not good in air in defence or attack, its better to ensure we get the 'second ball' on edge of box

At the moment, it is of a bigger concern that we may concede a goal from a breakaway at one of our own corners, than whether we will actually score from one i the first place.!!

Don't thnk thats quite the idea somehow.
