margate 2-1 up at half time, apparently lucky to have the lead from a strange penalty

Strange penalty? Is that opinion from one of your fans right at the other end of the pitch with not even a partial view of the pulling and pushing on our player? It was right in front of me and it was constant shirt pulling and a certain foul.

Shame we lost all width after Hilaire went off. Hopefully we can get some of our key players back for next week as this scratch team looks a bit weak at the moment.

Couldn't really see from our end and will be interesting to see the video footage of the incident as it didn't appear to look untoward, and similar incidents later on in the match went unpunished, which made the decision all the stranger.

Thought we could have snuck it today. We're getting better with each match and the team spirit is good, as proven today to fight back from two down.

Quiet showing from your fans though, although good in numbers, very quiet vocally which was surprising.

You also need to look at the programme, as it's not value for money at £2.

What's being planned for the ground? Are any further developments going through?

Good luck until we meet again though.

Nailed on penalty. Would have been robbed if he hadn't given it.

Apart from the first few minutes when we played ok it really was a poor one. Almost as bad as the Redbridge game. But we know the situation regarding injuries. We must be the unluckiest team in the division with half our squad injured. Lacked width for long periods of the game and really need Leon back to stretch the defences.

Probably a fair result even though it's very disappointing to draw games like that. We really should be taking three points if we are going to push for play offs.

Programme not great. Less said the better. We've said this before.

Ground apparently starting early 2006 New stands all round as far as I'm aware. Not seen any plans for a while as they seem to change.

It's a shame we stand in open air and sing. Think we would do better to stand under the roof at the Hartsdown Rd end.

First home game i've missed due to circumstances beyhond my control, sounds like a mixed bag of reaction. At least we can score penalties, always a plus.

First half was a great contest and a good statement of intent from our lads. The first goal was astounding, some pinpoint passing in midfield, a good move to Ian out wide on the right, a fabulous cross by Ian to Remy and then in the net. And only after two minutes, got a really good roar from the crowd and deservedly so, beautiful footy.

Second half we lost shape a bit, and the game went away too. michaelmichael would have been absolutely delighted with the amount of air play, and headers from our lot though.

Ian Hillaire took a beautiful penalty - there was a delay, but he remained focused and slotted it away with ease. Anyone thinking it wasn't a penalty was not watching how many times the defender held our guy. He did it once, the ref did not react, so he did it again, and this time was seen, but however many times he did it it was a straight, unequivocal penalty.

We allowed too many chances to Slough out wide, without playing those areas ourselves enough times. Greg was playing further back than usual, and it is his wing work that creates the most chances.

It is still to me the midfield that needs to firm up. We did miss JK and Kola in defence, but Bill was excellent today. Warren Ryan played well, good on the tackles, a very physical player. Hasim continues to impress, but I will be very happy to see him in a more attacking role midfield. I thought Dean Standen played a very good game again today, he is really spot on with his distribution.

Remy and Hilaire are really beginning to gel up front and both look threatening on goal, so did Darren when he came on for Ian. Daniel Sacha at last is here, he had a run out today as a substitute - a good left foot on him, and very quick, but did not see enough yet to comment further.

I do wish Ellis' lob on the keeper in the second half had found the net though, that would have been something else. And in the first half there was an attack where we had about six goes at finding the net, without success. Tremendous fun!

I reckon Slough just edged it in playing terms, but we could have nicked it, and at least we had the point that keeps us one above them.

Thanks for the report.

Do you mean we won the aerial battles or lost them again (maybe Slough also had noone over 5'8'' tall) ?

Better to draw than lose, so not a disaster today

Kola at the back, Hasim defensive midfield,Gradley in midfield and we could be in the play-offs.

Yes, that lob by Remy was the one real bright spot of the second half. A very slick move from midfield and Remy was set clear, chipped it over the advancing keeper but the ball flew agonisingly past the post when nine times out of ten it would have found the net.

just a little point here.

ARAAS wasn't at the game so don't go too harsh on the lad he was only reporting what was told to him.

Secondly, in my humble opinion we did edge the game playing wise today as we were on fire in the second half.

Thought you're no 4 and 6 (sorry not clear on the names) played really well today and caused us a lot of problems.

Thirdly, you're not the unluckiest team for injuries, we currently have Ballard who has suspected glandular fever, Leigh Mason, who has had on going ligament trouble for weeks now, Wilkinson, who is our team trojan, but is forever carrying an injury, our keeper, Parkin has had on going back problems and Metcalfe has just had a new addition to his family so is constantly tired from 4am wake up calls! and that's just our first team!

Good luck for the rest of the season lads

We were missing five (just counted) - four of whom would be certain starters and the other is a former million pound 25-year old player who has yet to make his debut (Jimmy Corbett), so its frustrating. We're both in the same boat where we can't get on a winning roll.

Charlie Mitten

Greg Oates

Mark Green

Bill Edwards

Gavin McGowan

Warren Ryan

Hasim Deen

Jermaine Brown (replaced by Daniel Sasha)

Ian Hilaire (replaced by Darren Watson)

Ellis Remy

Dean Standen

Corbett will never play for us. Remember the ex Brighton goal machine Freeman who never kicked a ball in anger! The club heralded it as the second coming - what an anti climax that was!

At least Darren Freeman played 20 minutes before disappearing!
