Coach/Minibus to Enfield Town

Can anyone who would be interested in getting on a coach to the Enfield Town Cup match (Friday 23rd Sept) add their names to this post, please?

 

Hopefully, if there's enough interest, the Supporters Club may put one on.

Yeah, we'll see how much interest there is, and if the Supporters Club won't do it, I'll look into prices.

Can do. Thornsy's dad owns/works for a coach company, so there may be an opening there.

Oh does he? How much do you think a minibus would cost then?

We used to do trips to Walthamstow on a Saturday night. Minibus from St Albans, driver hangs about it Walthamstowe, and then drives us back afterwards. It was about £110 for a 15-seater minibus.

 

This was about five years ago, but reckon it'll still work out less than £10 each.

Though it would be preferable if the Supporters Club read this and see how many of the usual coach-going crowd are interested. People like Knocky, for example.

 

I reckon they could fill a coach.

I don't think there will be enough interest in the coach to make it pay for itself. I hope I'm wrong.

Shouldn't matter. What about some of the profit from previous coaches - that will cover it.

 

You can't not put on a coach cos you might be £20 short. That's just totally selling the fans up the river.

 

There would be enough interest, anyway.

 

Brimsdown is just as much a pain in the [****!!****] to get to as somewhere like Basingstoke by puclic transport. All the usual scarfers would go.

It would be good to get a view from someone sensible from the supporters club on this, but I would imagine, that a £20 loss could be offset every week using the profits of merchandising etc.

 

A larger, regular loss though would not be sensible.

 

I suppose the question is whether the role of the club is to provide transport to everywhere regardless of cost or to simply make funds to support the football club. IE does it support the fans or the club? I think the answer lies between somewhere.

 

I'm sure AFF will have some comment to make.
