I think Town Crier that us rubber neckers are wanting to look at the inquest. This was a cup shock to us all for this round, but you do not want to be reminded of that.

"Wanting to look at the inquest" is why I used the term rubber neckers.

What I should have followed up is the reasoning. When things are not going well have someone/s who will be prepared to roll up sleeves and get stuck into the game, and go around all the team and tell them to "want it". I think last night left us desperately wanting in that department.

I felt numb leaving the ground last night but as already stated I felt that they wanted it more than we did. The ref was not up to standard for a game of this importance and allowed them to get away with too much. The back four did not gel and can understand the comments about missing Trotty. The midfield got lost when we started the long ball, which we cannot play and should not try. I thought that their keeper played well and made some good saves.

I hope that this result causes the whole team to buck up their ideas and produce the kind of football that not only wins the game but gives us supporters a pleasure to watch.

As a 'Bury supporter it's generally interesting to read the oppositions comments and how some of your home fans have interpreted the game.

It goes without saying that fans will always see the game through their own teams eyes and it's usually completely opposing views!

We agree the Ref was crap and why they allowed him to ref again after the sending off fiasco on Saturday is a mystery.

St.Margaretsbury is known to be a footballing side at our normal league level, but Billericay were closing us down quickly which certainly restricted our normal ability to do that. But the 'Nasty bunch' label posted on this forum by just a few, is undeserved and a sad excuse for a club of your stature.

The average age of our team is 21 and you couldn't have failed to notice a number were 'built for speed, not power'. For some to say we bullied and dictated a Billericay team consisting of fit well-built mostly full-time players is just not credible.

Yes we have our more robust players, but we are talking competitive football and that's why the Referee is there. At the end of the day nobody could say that was a dirty game.

While we may disagree that our number 5 may come across as a [*****] [****]....the important thing is he's our [*****] [****]!

I think it was a combination of two factors:

I think an earlier post was right, Billericay were too complacent and thought this would be just a matter of course. We made and took our chances and your team didn't.

The 'Bury do have a strong squad this season and our history in the program shows we are past giant-killers...it wasn't bully tactics or some ficticious masterplan and the team camaraderie is solid. We did want it more and ironically, it was seeing us described as a "Pub Team" on this very forum that was used as a motivator to win.

However, having said all we have seen as many comments recognising our performance and wishing us well. And the team really appreciated the 'Blue Army' applauding them off the field.

Hopefully the upside (and there always is one) is that this will act as a wake up call and prepare Billericay for a decent league challenge.

We all love football, so we wish you guys well and are sure the Blues will make you proud again.

Nuff said.

Yep, We all look at our respective teams through rose coloured glassess, don't we Bury voice? Altho, I haven't seen a lot of that from the 'Ricay support on this thread.

Your lucky we only had 10 men for most of the first game otherwise you wouldn't of had the pleasure of us showing you up infront of your loyal home fans and as for the comments about some of our players being c***s you need to take a look at your number 2 who spent more time elbowing our players than he did on the ball and as for your keeper whats he playing at trying to start on our center forward (clearly frustration coming out there) being beaten by his own team mate!!! GUTTED!!!!!

According to all of your kind postings, it seems that St.Margaretsbury has 5 C***s, 3 bullies, an Ossie Ardilies fanatic as a manager and a bisexual Ginger haired winger by the name of Birnie in our team.

As the Editor-at-large of the Saints'n'Sinners fanzine, I can confirm that your assumptions are indeed correct. However as we are a bunch of carrot crunchers and most of us have not passed our 11-plus exams, we would appreciate that you do not refer to our players by their numbers as most of them are still on their "2x tables" and therefore some of them do not yet know what the numbers 3,5,7,9 & 11 are!

Many thanks for your kind words of congratulations, good luck for the next round and general nice sportsmanlike comments.

PS. We found a pair of white terry towelling socks, a 9ct gold plated tie pin from Elizabeth Duke and VIP members pass to Hollywoods night club in our away changing room - we would be grateful if you could ask around and find out who in your team they belong to....
