Not too much to say after that. 2-0 up through an own goal and pegged back to 2-2. They scored early in the second half of extra time to win.

We were not just bad, but a [****!!****] embarassment to watch. We put in two awful performances against them, and they deserved to knock us out. They wanted it more.

Roll out the old cliches like, at least we can concentrate on the league now, but we looked like we wanted to be knocked out. Defence was even shakier than usual, and all we did to try and attack was hoof the bloody ball up the park. Even they played better football than we did. To let in 3 goals against a side who barely threatened us on Saturday is a shambles.

We should have been twice as fit as the, and been running all over them by 70 minutes. Even when they had a man sent off (again) late, we couldnt make it tell. There goes that FA Cup dream for another year.

Fair play to St M, theyll give Folkestone a good game. Good luck to em. Except that number 4: he was a total c**t.

I thought the number 5 and the number 9 was a total [****!!****] but that doen't take it away that we were bloody embarrassing. In the first half we looked good for the 2 goal lead but the second half I'm sorry, we were poor.

Well done St. Margaretsbury. Watch those flood lights if you get the replay.

it won't make you feel better guys but I was there tonight and objectively I have to say that you got mugged into the hoof and push routine.......their game plan worked and instead of playing the ball as you can you fought fire with fire...after the break you needed the players to put their feet on the ball and use the space...instead they got drawn into a 'punch up' that they were never going to win....

nasty bunch but they got the result...

keep your chins up...in short bursts there was some good passing play out there from ricay but sadly on the night not enough of it...

great game for a neutral I have to add and apart from the gobby [****!!****]**le sitting next to me from SM I could have almost wished them well for their endeavour....what a bunch of gobby tw*ts...

I know it doesn't make for any excuse but I would agree with you UU. Nasty bunch of [****!!****]. We got suckered no doubt about it but surely we're better than that? And Everytime Saps made a challenge that 9 went down with four or five around the ref. But again, Justin gave out the instruction for our players to "get around the ref because they were "bossing" him" and we didn't.

Still we have only ourselves to blame and you have to admire their effort if not their tactics...2 nil down, away from home and they never gave it up.

Time to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down, take every comment from every other Ryman club supporter on this here forum on the chin and get on with it. The same applies to the lads.

We'll come back this Saturday.

Come on you Blues!!!

The word has been used a lot already on this thread but this was an embarrassing defeat for our club and its supporters. We have failed to win this tie despite having the odds massively stacked in our favour during both games. On top of that I reckon this result has probably cost the club about 25 grand in prize and gate money and that's cash that no club at this level can afford to lose.

On paper October looks like a difficult month league wise. I suppose we will know by the end of that month whether some supporters views of regression this season are justified.

Surely the sign of a good team is one that imposes their style of play on a game? i thought we were a passing team yet we were dictated to by them!! I'm not sure if it is a case of dusting ourselves down and putting that in the past. There were a lot of alarm bells being rung last night. The defence was truly awfull, although some responsibilty has to fall on Ross/George and Dorms who have offered little in the way of help for the full backs. Every time we got the ball at the back we lumped it forward and as much as people are knocking their defenders, they were not going to miss many balls in the air. Hockers is a quality finisher but for goodness sake, play it to his feet. The one time we did in the first half we should have scored.

The long ball meant that matty game and Leon were not able to get on the ball as it kept going over their heads.

I get the feeling justin doesnt quite know his best 11 yet. Is ross really a winger? i cant remember too many crosses coming from that side? Is dormer really a left winger? is macca a centre half or right back? If we were going to let the oppo dictate the style of play then Ross would have been better as the target man.

The decision to let Trotty go is proving to look like a very bad decision. ok, he wasnt the quickest but did he have to be with Pat playing next to him. Dobbo is not the answer for me.

Last night we looked unorganised. We had a corner in the first half and Ross was back as the last man!! We are a very small team so it would make sense then to put your tallest player on the half way line!

I think it was Gazza that said after Sat's game that we havent become a bad team in a week. Well something in the last 2 games has gone wrong. In over 3 hours of football and for most of that agaisnt 10 men, we failed to score, failed to impose ourselves, failed to create and as a reuslt failed to win.

If we havent become a bad team then its up to players to prove it. How many of us thought that saturday was just a one off? The team owes the supporters one now. They let us and themselves down.

Rant over.

Firstly, well done to St Margetsbury. They wanted it more than us. Look at their reaction when the 3rd goal went in!

As for that 3rd goal….Am I the only one who thought it was ‘Dowie like’? Thomas jumped like a Salmon with nobody around him and planted it in the top corner. It would have been a brilliant header if it would have been at the other end!

St Margetsbury totally bullied us (and the Ref) throughout the game. Yes they were a horrible lot, but we just couldn’t handle them and looked totally intimidated by them. We haven’t got anyone who can be nasty and I think the word is getting around that if you bully us, you beat us. Look at when Nathan was having words with their number 5 at the start of extra time. The 5 was goading Nathan into reacting to him and nobody in a blue shirt went over to help. We were running scared from them.

It may be early in the season, but It’s time for the players to stand and be counted. Saturday should be very interesting.

Most people have already summed up the mood of the majority of the supporters so i won't bother with the 'it was an embarrassment...' line because that's just stating the obvious. I honestly believe the reason we were unable to convert a two-goal advantage against lesser (???) opposition at home with a full-strength team rests with two factors: firstly complacency; i honestly believe the players thought it would be a stroll tonight, despite the fact we were given a bit of a scare in the first game i think the players mindsets were along the lines of "that was a one-off by them, we're at home, we're from a higher league etc, etc". Well frankly that is completely the wrong attitude to take. I remember nathan coming towards the club house after saturdays game and stating "i'm going to score a hat-ful on tuesday". i think that comment sums up the players attitude to the game.

Secondly, a factor linked to complacency is the fact that 'bury wanted it more (something many supporters have already pointed out). No matter how 'bury behaved on the pitch with regard to feigning injuries and harrassing the referee you got the impression each player would run through walls for a team mate. They absolutely fought for their lives. This is in stark contrast to our lads who looked un-organised, dis-interested and were constantly bickering.

Not good enough - big improvement needed on saturday

I haven't been left so angry and disappointed in a performance since our drubbing against Braintree. We look shaky and nervous at the back and in my opinion Kerrigan was the only defender to really turn up last night. We looked weak in midfield and as already mentioned we need to give the full backs some protection. I thought it was a shame that not all the players put in the effort Danny and Nathan did in the 2nd half. I still can't work out what Thomas was doing for their winner, it was another poor performance from him.

Anyway, how would people play on Saturday to turn things around?

This will be the time to see if Justin can pick the players up, iron out the issues and put it right.

Does anyone else feel we need a few more players addes to the squad, players that are proven and have some experience? The average age of the squad must be very young and like i said before we are so short as a team. For me, we need a big strong centre half and one in midfield.

I think we look short of experience. I'm going to be shouted down about this but I think there was some value in having Forbes and Trott in the team...especially Robin Trott. he may have been slow but he held the back four together. And a bloody nice chap as well.

Justin will pick the lads up and Matt Jones will get into their heads. I don';t doubt that the lads will be back....

I also think that we miss Trotty and Forbes and I felt that the treatment handed out to Forbes at last seasons Leyton play off game by some fans was very cruel. Its true that he did not have the best of nights and also had some other dodgy performances last season, but he also played to a very high standard in many games and played with alot of heart. This is a young team and in my opinion now is the time for us older supporters to get behind the youngsters and install some belief in them.

To all of the above...I agree.

I would just add that we came back from 2 nil down to beat a Craig Edwards side, and beat a team of 6'4 footballers at Stains.

But unfortunately the lads who won those 6 points seem to have deserted us at the moment.

Well done St Margaretsbury, you deserved the win.

I'm expecting our AWOL’s to be back this Saturday.
