Thanks to Dutch Seadog, and to the other Scarborough fans that I spoke to after the game, in saying that 'Fleet thoroughly deserved the win.

I thought that we played very well and deserved to win.....the play was good...and very entertaining....Liam was great..and so were the rest of the team.....crowd got behind the lads......but the old fat bloke in the "canadian lumberjack" shirt still moaned !! we kept moving to avoid him in the second half but we could still hear the old chap ( the word "chap" is used herein as to avoid being banned by Hon Webby !)

Come on you 'Fleet !!

Absolutely proud to bits of the lads. Chuffed to bits to be invloved with the second half noise behing their goal.

I would just like to say im proud to bits of the Boro fans for getting behind their team and enjoying the second half with us.

Well done the fleet absolutely superb performance could maybe should have had more but most important of all we have 3 points to keep us going.

On to the Barnet now, lets see what they can do.

We were fantastic!!!

First half was 40 minutes of near total dominance, followed by the lapse just before half-time. Second half we started well, killed the game off with the penalty and own goal at 4-1 then the last 20 minutes were a bit scrappy but the job was already done.

We still still looked a little suspect at the back - the difference today is that we took the chances that we created!

When we lose, we have still created more chances than the opposition - it's just that we never managed to put enough of them away in those games.

Liam - man of the match, no doubt. But the rest of the lads were superb - Wilkerson made some fine saves, Che's movement on and off the ball was up near to his best, Jacko was more noticable in midfield than he has been this season (not meant to sound like criticism - just the higher standard of the squad means he doesn't stick out as much as he used to!), Tostao's crossing was pinpoint & the lads in defence did their job more than they didn't.

One curious point was the one man pitch invasion - twice. First time was apparently 'an accident' (he was pushed forward, so it was claimed) but surely that was proved wrong when he did it a second time.....so how comes he was allowed to return after being escorted away? Double standards seem apparent considering the Stevenage affair?

Indeed, Daz - couldn't have put it better myself. Liam was certainly deserving of his MOTM award, although all of the other players played a part. If we continue to put in displays like this, it's hard to see how some of our currently injured players will fit into the side when they return (e.g. in midfield - Andy will have quite a selection dilemma once Bentley, Rob Owen and Danny Lye come back! )

Credit to Scarborough for making us work hard right to the end, but while we had the odd defensive lapse (i.e. when one of their forwards was left totally unmarked in the second half but fortunately fired his volley over the bar), we were largely in control.

In my view, there were two key moments which led to our victory. The first was a brilliant, instinctive one-on-one save by Wilkerson with the score at 1-0 (if that had gone in, the final result could have been very different), and the second was our flowing move that led to the penalty (to be honest, I really thought that Boro' were going to pull it back level after their goal just before half time). How refreshing that, after being caught cold so many times just after the break this season, we should do the same to our opponents.

Overall, a superb result, and just what we need going into the two tough away matches we face this week.

P.S. It was announced in the programme yesterday that our programmes will from now on be printed by the Gravesend Reporter instead. Surely they can't get any worse this time!

Too true JC, Wilkerson's one-on-one save was pure class, he is certainly quality keeper. Great signing Andy!

There's not a lot else I can add about the performance that has already been said in this thread but one thing is for sure, you have got to give the lads 10/10 for their committment and effort yesterday, we are certainly ruffling a few feathers of the teams in the Conference.

We were superb, totally outplayed them. I thought their supporters were a credit to their club.Right through the team we were awsome,Liams two goals were top draw, how did tostao get that cross onto liams head? There was a point in the 2nd half when Macca won a throw,Liam wanted a quick throw, but macca used his experience and just slowed things down, thats what we needed. If we can keep up these performances top 10 is very gettable.Well done again boys lets have another on tuesday.

CMOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN YOU REEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDS.
