[color:"blue"] Have published the next poster (for Carshalton FA cup tie 24th Sept & Billericay on 4th Oct. Taffy will post when they're available for pick-up at the ground.

 

If you want to print one yourself, let me know & I'll e-mail you a copy. (You'll need Microsoft Word to view it). For technical reasons there seems to be a problem if I put online (something to do with the embedded fonts).

If I had the time I would help but how about printing off loads of posters and doing a drop in Birchington or Palm Bay Estate. Or you could leave a load with various newsagents. I assume there are still paper rounds in Margate

When people order newspaper deliveries they have to come in each week to pay for their papers. They would see the notice on the front window as they come in. I think that as long as we can cover the shops doing newspaper deliveries then we should be fine on that one.

 

Also I dont think all the shops would take too kindly to Margate FC giving the newspaper boys/girls leaflets to hand out to each house each week. The kids delivering them would also expect to be paid for the leaflet delivery as well. By all means ask around, maybe Im wrong but then again...

A leaflet drop for the Golden gate lottery is a very very good idae.

 

The club probably has a small marketing budget and you would probably get 10000 leaflet drops done for £500.

 

5% success/conversion rate is 500 new GG lottery customers who if they play for 10 weeks at min. £1 stake brings in £5000(less cost of prizesand other small additional overheads) but bigger prizes would mean more people play so it becomes self-fulfilling.

 

I still think the GG lottery is one of Thanets best kept secrets and needs a concerted publicity campaign on behalf of and by the club

What about we use our elected reperesentatives? As weve seen from the Labour Party, they will print out an enormous poster for the Maldon Town game.

 

Maybe someone (PeterW perhaps?) could mock up a poster for the Golden Gate Lottery and we could get a copy through the Councillors doors. 56 Councillors all over Thanet, excluding County Councillors, its good coverage. Maybe they will put it up in their front windows.

I could see if the Conservatives would do the same. The Conservative Office is in Birchington at the Square. Maybe they will put up a poster in their window.

 

As I say this, this has nothing to do with politics. This is purely about the football and raising funds for the club.

I would normally say that any political party would disassociate itself with any form of 'gaming'.

 

However, aswell as MFC the Golden Gate lottery supports local 'good causes' ,so maybe they woiuld assist here.

 

I still think the GG lottery needs de-mystifying as i don't trhink too many are clear on exactly how it works and who exactly benefits.

 

Notwithstanding all of the above, similar to the effort to directly support the club, a concerted effort to promote the Golden gate lottery would surely benefit the club medium term leading to on field success.

If you want a poster knocked up about anything I am sure,if you ask nicely Peter W will try and do something. However the club should be doing something for the GG.lottery I think as we the supporters are trying to get people through the gate with the publicity generated from the posters. Maybe a poster as we have it now but with a mention of the GG.lottery at the bottom of it.

How about we round up all the Chavs, spray them blue & white then scribble the fourthcoming games all over their Burberry. Then chase them thru the streets of Margate like the running of the Bulls in Spain. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bigshock.gif" alt="" /> I think it's a winner myself.

However from the next poster (that's after the one just printed by Taffy which will be ready to pick up at the Slough game)there will be a plug for the Golden Gate Lottery just below the Fixtures.
