It has been decided by a few of us in the club last night to meet in the GOOSE pub in romford(formerly the moorland arms),next to romford station for our beano to burnham next saturday,the plan was to meet up at 11ish,have a couple of beers and then train it to burnham(probably around 12)

if anyone fancies meeting a little earlier for a spot of breakfast i will be up for it!!

I will find out how much it costs and if we can get discount the more of us that travel <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

I think it cost around £6.50 when we went there first game of the season. Trains leave from Shenfield these days but fast train is probably quicker from Romford to Wickford. Trains for Burnham leave at 20 past the hour and leave Burnham at 21 past the hour.

If u guys haven't been before then the choice of pubs is good. Keep going out of the station and the Railway is on the left which is much improved...then walk down into town and there are two on the left then as u hit town (Ten mins walk) at least four or five to choose from. We use the Star normally..

Word of warning, to walk back to the ground takes about 25 minutes from the town centre...so if you intend to order a taxi, then book it either on Friday or very early Saturday morning, as they are hard to come by in the afternoon..

Star has two entrances...the back bit is okay if the weather is fine as it overlooks the harbour..very palatial...

Nice place Burnham and good bar staff..They will probably open the big back bar for your lot.
