Poor run of form

Well it's all getting a bit worrying now. the last three games have not been the most inspiring. As already said the ref (and the cheating opposition) can take a share of the blame for the Maldon game, although potential league champions should be expected to rise above it. Today was a shambles, playing a team way below us in the leagues, who were playing with 10 men for the majority of the match (and fair play to them they battled and played reasonably well) but we only created 2-3 chances. You would expect a goal feast at that game really, the pitch wasn't great but better than it could have been, the ref was comical but hardly one sided. The key question is... Where is it all going wrong?

After three games, 2 of which were a draw and the other a defeat. You give up easily, don't you?

I think you're hitting the panic button a bit too soon here. In the good old tradition of the filth rags like The Sun, it appears that two poor results is sending you down the "it's all gone wrong" road.

Two games do not make a season and on the positive side, we're not out of the F A Cup, we have a mid week replay at our ground, on our pitch which would favour our style of football. Despite the poor showing on the pitch today, we're still in it. Yes we didn't play well but we did on Tuesday...so, where in your mind has it gone wrong?

As for Tuesdays game....what was wrong there, apart from being 10 men down after 10 minutes. The teams response on Tuesday was marvelous and although we got tired towards the end of the game, we still came out the better side, unfortunately just didn't get the result.

I just want to ask, what do people want? To be undefeated all season? It'll be nice but it just don't happen. Some games we play badly. Fair play to St. Margretsbury, they battled with 10 men and stopped us. On the other hand, in the last 15, we played like we should've all game.

Whare has it gone wrong? It hasn't. We just played badly for the greater percentage of the game.

To and others, stop hitting the panic button wondering that it's all gone t*t's up and get behind the club and the team. Christ, if we all put our heads down now, what would be the point of carrying on with the season.

Panic button?!

No one said anything about a panic! Do you think losing to the team bottom of the league at home and failing to beat an amateur team way below us in the leagues is not poor form? What I think would be wrong would be to bury our heads in the sand and pretend everything is going O.K.

I am not calling for resignations or axing of players or anything like that, I am not like "the sun" thank you very much. All I am saying is that something is going wrong, as you said yourself we have been playing badly recently (the definition of a poor run of form?). I didn't say it had gone wrong I said it is going wrong. Fix a minor problem before it becomes a major one.

It's not a question of putting our heads down, it's a question of problem solving. Of course we as supporters have to cheer on and encourage our team (which I have been doing) and as you say we should not expect to be unbeaten.

Reread the first post Gazza and don't try and twist my words.

So where is the poor run of form? Didn't we play well on Tuesday? We just had a player sent off and a run of bad luck on the pitch that night, hardly bad form, now is it? Two games drawn, where we could've played better (Harrow and today) and one where, in my considered opinion, we were unlucky.

Season has only started and we're talking about "poor form" and "where is it all going wrong". I don't understand...What are you suggesting here?

As galling as the draw is today, it happens. Nothing has gone wrong. We played badly, it was frustrating, we'll be back.

I don't call one defeat in your opening couple of games, bad form.

I don't see how you could have watched the game today and not think we are in poor form!!!

I repeat, did I say anything about panic in the first post? Have I mentioned giving up? I was encouraging the lads up until the final whistle today, as I was Tuesday, and last Saturday. I object to your suggestions that I am putting my head down as well as the talk of panic.

We all agree that we have a realistic shot at the title this season with the team, management, and supporters we have. If we carried on playing like we are (which I don't think we will for one minute as I think Justin and co have the sense to realise that something is going wrong and solve it in training) we won't do that, therefore we are not living up to our potential form, so we are in poor form at the moment.

You were there and supporting well but where is the poor form...I'll repeat...we played badly.

League Played 5, Won 3, drawn 1 Lost 1

F A Cup Played 1 Drew 1

Where is the poor form?

I take it you were there on Tuesday? Did we, or did we not play well? Where is the poor form there?

We played badly today, finish!

If at Xmas we're bottom of the league, out of the FA Cup and Trophy, ask then, "Where did it all go wrong". Not after 6 games.

O,K so your response to something that could go wrong is to wait until it has done and it is too late to do anything about it and then think about it? Hardly proactive.

I was there on Tuesday, and I do think we didn't played particually well. We certainly were unlucky and didn't get the run of the ball, but we didn't create much either. As we were all discussing after and during the game there were a number of issues where we weren't playing the way we should.

Oh and I am still waiting for you to actually apologise for twisting my words from the first post, but I won't hold my breath.

Good result for your boys today,

I just hope that this poor draw for St.Margetsbury won't take their mind off important things like beating the Dog and Duck next week.

We're not in the cup yet, that's what happens when your in a higher division.

What was our score today

Excuse me but YOU ask after 6 games, where it is going wrong and expect an apology?

As for your last comment...Apologise for what? Okay, I'll apologise that I took your comment to it's furthest meaning but you still maintain that things are going wrong after, in my opinion, one bad game. A little harsh, don't you think?

Personally, I think you original post is just born out of frustration of one bad game...and that is all it is, one bad game. get some perspective.

Isn't that what tabloid rags like "The Sun" do? (see your first post in this thread).

What it comes down to is that you think that today is a one off and the last two games were O.K where as I think we haven't played well for the last three games, when you say get some perspective well, there it was, I think you just didn't like it because it is different from yours. In my opinion we have had problems conceeding early goals, in communication on the pitch, playing the long ball that hasn't worked, and not getting enough crosses into the box. Anyway I think we could just go round in circles here so I'll leave it at that. You have your opinion I'll have mine and we will all be there on Tuesday supporting the team.

We were crap today and didnt look up for it. Weve got a chance to make it up Tuesday so thats all that matters. No disasters as yet, just a little tricky patch which im sure well get through. Positives are, were still in the cup, weve got some extra entertainment on Tuesday. Not that you can really call today entertainment. Mind you, the [****!!****] up with the sending off was hilarious: worth the gate money alone. What a shambles.
