Banter - insults

some of it is well out of order

In fact i hear that one of the chav supporters was warned that if they continued their particular style of banter they would be asked to vacate the ground!

Not as much fun as the Towner Chav singing "I'd rather be a Towner than a Chav". Marvelous.

I can vouch for that, as it was the Lino that told him if he didn't cease calling him a C**t he was going to have him ejected from the ground.

That was completely unnecessary language for a game being watched by youngsters and young families. The Lino should have known better,

( only joking ) but that's the problem with society in general isnt it ?

People not knowing when to restrain themselves and respect authority even if your not getting the rub of the green.

actually UnHappy, I think that the Town supporters are some of the most controlled football fans around, who else would sing "..........you fat person"
rather than
"......... you fat Bar steward"

I was talking to someone @ the Town show who was impressed at how restrained the "boys in the shed" were

Gonna stick my oar in here again

And agree in part with both of you

Yes I beleive that on the whole we towners are one of the best behaved bunch of supporters and rightly so thats how it should be

I think in general teams look forward to coming down to us for the banter and welcome they receive.

That is what it should be about

How ever I have noticed that if a player has been a bit naughty or Match official has had a stinker there is an element among us who find it difficult to control themselves and hurl nasty and foul insults particularly where the player/official is coming off at the end of the game.

I think this is something we could do without,we are a community and family orientated club.

We just need to keep that in mind.

The last thing we want is bad press or complaints about our behaviour.

On the whole thought I believe we are among the best behaved supporters because at teh end of the day its OUR club.

I am going to stop now as am sounding like an old woman (no sexist comment intended)

And yes I will admit there have been times when I may have used a choice word or two ..........No one is perfect!

Don't we have ground rules about what is & isn't acceptable behavior?.

Sorry Southport, I do accept what you say. HOwever, as Cue Ball has rightly stated, there are a few idiots who should hang there heads in shame with some of the foul and abusive language they direct at officials and opposition players. They are in a minority, thank goodness.
