Referees in this League…

EUFC FAN

Recommended Posts

I think the time has come that we all as fans and supporters on non-league football make our feelings about the poor refereeing in this league know to the FA. The game to today seems to be someone’s sick joke of an experiment on getting women into game. Other referees have been so poor it is almost funny.

The time has come to stand together and complain about these referees that are ruining our game!

Send your complaints to http://www.thefa.com/feedback

Try complaining about the ref when we have won a match and the bad decisions have all gone our way.....you still won't be listened to but at least you won't sound like a whinger.

There have been a couple of games this season where I thought a bad decision has gone for us! I would like to the referee to be in the background and us to win on merit. The players of both teams have the ability to win the game they do not need help/hindrance from the ref.

She’s sent a Scarborough player off now! Blimey she has not got a clue!

As an old fan of the Fleet in the 50's and 60's I remember complaining about refereees then. There are always complaints about the ref in whatever league or level but you seem to imply that the referees are picked up off the street just before the game. Referees spend years going up through the classes (3 to 1) and progressing up the leagues on merit and using marks awarded by the clubs, they are quite a long way up the ladder by the time they get to the Conference so are not novices!

I spent 10 years as a referee and in that time reached semi pro level, still a long way to go to the top. The incidences of trying to con the referee and the pressures have increased over the years, if the players played the game honestly then the refereeing would be easier.

Most of those complaining about referees have no idea what it takes to do the job (and most could not do it).

Complaining to the FA will not achieve anything as the Conference can only use those referees available to them on the list of referees who have reached the required level - and they are the ones you are getting!

Well if this is true then some in the Conference are not going to go a lot further.

Seems the missy who did our game today has got a bit of previous!

Does this mean you'll be officially complaining (but not whinging) about a certain referee at the Canvey game who gave a penalty after one of your players actually handled the ball in the area then Slartibartfast?

We had another twat set of officials today at Crawley. We are up against the club with the worst disciplinary record so far and get nothing except one of our players being sent off!

I know "it should all even out over a season" but if there are so many dodgey decisions effecting games over a season they must have an impact on some clubs final destiny.

The pen was given because of a hand ball by one of YOUR players, watch it on Conference TV.

From the point of view of someone that was actually there....

The pitch was terrible and should never have been played on from the start. The ref was terrible as she made a rod for her own back after booking skins in the first three minutes. This set a precident for the rest of the game and anyone who failed a player (by her way of thinking) had to be booked.

For anyone sayin "Oh but your going to say that, he's one of your players"; the tackle he made later that gave the free kick for the third was a straight red. What did she do? Book one of their players for decent.

The most bizzar thing was that she tried being friends with the players as she rammed a yellow card in their faces.

Three times there were incidents where a 20 man brawl was taking place, for some reason she decided to stand in the safety of about fifty yards away and watch.

Whenever she was talking to a player she seemed to have to consultate with one of her assistants. The players just didn't respect her.

I'm not a sexist man and I think women can work as Police Officers, Stewards, Lawyers Astronaughts, Prime Ministers and Presidents (one day), but not referees.

I wasn't there today, but of course women can be referees, It doesn't matter who you are, if you know nothing about the game you know nothing about the game.

I learned a long time ago that either you accept the decisions made or you go mad about it. It's not even worth thinking about. Or that it all evens out over the course of the season. It doesn't. Just live with it. We had the same Ref, the same pitch, the same day, we lost. Thats all it is too it.There's nothing else worth worrying about, either we win or we lose.

It's been compained about in the past, but as has been said, if they were any damn good, they would be reffin higher up in the leagues.

It's no excuse, but that's the way it is.

Was she hot at least?

I couldn't really tell she was to far away, but from where I was sitting I wouldn't say no.

I've now had time to sleep on it and I think women can referee but not like she did it. Can you imagine a Wayne Rooney taking orders off of a woman as she smilingly puts a card in his face?

Your right we lost but three things I can take out of this game.

1 We were the better team.

2 Sodje was quality.

3 We don't have to visit Scarborough again this season. Unlikely we'll get them in the cup or trophy.

Harry, I can't be arsed to list them all but if you really can't see them here are a few clues:

'precident' should be 'precedent'
'decent' should be 'dissent'
'bizzar' should be 'bizarre'
'consultate' should be 'consult'
'astronaughts' should be 'astronauts'
and of course 'I'm not a sexist man' should have read 'I am a sexist man'
