Todays attendance

Well,so far we have had 1200 nearly 1300,1000 & 800 at home. Taking into account the first games publicity, the evening game and anything else that may have swayed things is it a trend that we are getting here with a drop of 200 each game or will we get back to the 1000 plus today. Personally I dont think we will get that many today. Maybe the trend will continue down another 200 to the 600 figure.

Are the posters doing their job? Up till now I believe they have been a MAJOR contributory factor in getting the sizeable crowds that we have had. Advertising the games in the past was sorely missed.

Hopeful of a good crowd nevertheless but although it is FA Cup day the opposition may put some off from attending (no disrespect intended).

If the attendance figure DOES drop again then maybe an extra push on the posters needs addressing and maybe some other form of publicity should be sought to help maintain these good attendances.

My guess is that 500 today(though still a good draw) will roughly be the attendance figure but am obviously hoping for lots more.

At end of the day, its a winning team which will now pull in the crowds.

A wintoday is essential to get a crowd of 700-800 for Slough game.

If we lose today, all the interest will evaporate excepting us 'hard core'.

Very simply, we need to start winning games consistentlyand moving up the league and progressing in the cups.

Everyone has done their part. Now its up to the team and manager

Couldnt agree more MM.Performances and results on the field will most definately keep people coming and will determine future attendances, though a continuation and even a stepping up of the publicity for the games by the fans would keep people interested at the least.(More posters out etc). Maybe now is the time to start spreading the posters to further parts of Thanet rather than concentrate on Margate alone.

I don't think todays game is a good indicator for attendances. The first game was always going to be big. The second game was still relatively new again with some people coming as they missed the first. The third game was a midweek match which are traditionaly not as well attended anywhere. Today is the FA cup and a lower division side and so there will be very few away supporters, (Not that we've had many so far any way). Generally these matches are not very well attended in the early rounds and so I think it will be our lowest attendance so far at about 600. I feel it will be higher next week for the next league game however.

Its good to hear that 'Sluff' intend to bring about 100 supporters. It should make for a good atmosphere. I'm looking forward to a good match. On the attendance on Saturday, you have to look at in perspective and see that it was the third highset in thne round.

Taking into consideration the first game back home, the first game under lights, the not so inviting opposition on saturday etc etc etc we still have a drop in figures on a regular scale.1279,1010,812,672. Unless there is an increase again back up to that thousand mark then we should be wondering if those excuses, reasons are in fact the real reasons for the fall in figures. Obviously no panic as even 672 is a good attendance but I for one will be looking to see if the figure drops ONCE again on saturday.

Hopefully we can stop this downward trend on saturday and reach back up to that 1000 mark or better again. Winning against Cowes in style may have helped. Slough bringing a 100 or so (if told correctly) will also help. Will be interesting to see what happens on saturday with this.

Looking at the crowd i am encouraged by the number of women and kids in the crowd, will they continue to attend when the weather takes a turn?. i would say yes, IF, we are WINNING.I think the crowds have been brilliant, the atmoshere created outstanding. long may it last on our march onwards and upwards.I hope slough do bring a 100 it will give the choir some opposition for the 1st time this season.

There are some reasons for the lower attendances (these arent meant to be excuses but they can account). Firstly the season is moving on now so the newishness of the team is wearing off. I know its still very early days but its been a good handful or so games now. Secondly the type of game is a factor...this wasnt a league game, it was the very first game of the FA Cup.

The figures will go up I reckon. If Margate continue to win then people will be interested in watching the games. If Margate can progress further in the FA Cup, peoples interest in that will rise as well.

Dont panic!

Early fa cup crowds are always low and I consider the crowd against cowes to be high. Tha midweek game was lower but still in my opinion high for a tues night. I think if we keep playing good football and get results we can sustain a crowd between 800 and 1100 all season. Its all coming together chaps.
