My cat

So far today he has brought in:

1) a rodent which I manged to catch (and it bit me) but he bit it's head off later.

2) a fully-grown magpie which I was able to rescue in a sheet and release slightly battered - the other local magpies then decided to beat it up.

3) half a squirrels tail - God knows where the rest of it is.

Never a dull moment here in down town Harpenden.

Cat lovers [one of which I am not] look lovingly at their animal in those circumstances and announce "It's a present. It's a sign that he/she loves you".

Cats serve no useful purpose. There is not one scintilla of affection in their psyche. Their mew nastily when they want to be fed, which is their only attempt at communication. They only put up with human beings in their house as one of their front paws has not yet evolved into a tin-opener.

Oh, by the way. The rest of the squirrel will be inside the cat. They usually leave the pelvic bone of a squirrel lying around somewhere.

Goes to prove that Cats are marvellous rodent despatchers.

That's why the Egyptians domesticated 'em !

in any neighborhood there will be loads of cats covering an area that has the wildlife to support one.. being fed by humans they can then overwhelm the real wildlife..

i dont like cats.. i like dogs, proper dogs that are big enough to scare kids and make other dog owners pick up their little dogs when they bound towards them (merely encouraging proper big dogs to jump around as they think they are playing some game)...

having said that i have 3 cats (well my wife does) fortunatly i dont give a crap about the local wildlife
