Goal Celebration Music

[color:"blue"] Fellow Wellsy/Wellsie Steve is doing a great job in the announcers box, but here's a request.

 

I know we've only scored a couple so far, but how about Goal Celebration Music ?

 

I'd suggest either a clip of Blur's 'Song 2' or the Piranhas 'Tom Hark'.

 

Any other suggestions ?

Everytime I hear suggestions to a "goal" song it includes those Piranhas! Isnt there something apart from that up for suggestion.Come on now get your thinking caps on. Glad you brought this topic up Peter.We want something that is OUR OWN!

Something we can sing along to - for me it's got to be Tom Hark by Piranhas. Goal celebration music, pleeeeeeeease!

Must be something else for goodness sake.There must be many clubs using that one!

Surely it will only be for about 10-15 seconds anyway & wont the singing of it for those precious seconds ruin the effect from the P.A system in these instances. The choir surely would spoil the effect.(no disrespect meant there.I am talking of 10-15 seconds only) But then its only open for discussion. If you are going to sing it then why have a disc anyway.

How about that one "Que Sera-Mi vida"(Gibson Brothers). The first bit where it goes "if you should go,go,go,go as it will sound like "goal, goal,goal,goal. Am sure that those who know the song will know what I am talking about.

Mind you getting a copy on disc could be a problem. Just a suggestion.

Im not sure if any music is really required at all for this. Considering the reaction at the choir's area when the "disallowed" goal went in, I dont think anyone would seriously notice the music. The cheers was so loud the music would be largely irrelevant.

The cheering and singing is loud, but I think something in the background would be a real hit for everyone in the ground. Also, it may be something in the minds of the players before kick off - let's get that song played. We might even see one of the new players try a Sodje dance!

Surely we dont want "recognised songs.

Something "new" and a song that can be attributed to our club only. That is my point. Am sure the Piranhas is indeed a good one but I just would prefer something original. This topic is open for discussion so we all have a right to put forward that which we feel is agreeable to the majority.If it be the Piranhas then so be it.

I just would prefer something more "exclusive" to our club thats all.

Personally I think crowds should make their own atmosphere rather than having gimmicks such as 'goal music'. However, if we do have to have something why not be completely distinctive and have a rousing bit of classical music? I remember years ago Dover used to run out to something operatic. Anything but Song 2 which has been used at dozens of grounds, it's almost as naff as Simply The Best.

There aren't many things that could drive me away from going to Stonebridge Road for each home game.

 

But playing music when we score might just do it.

How about a recording of a group of voices copying that Brazil broadcaster,Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooal Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargate,repeat.The only problem i have with the music is When the players have run out at pre kick off, the music as tended to completly drown out the natural roar of the crowd for the players,detracting fom the atmoshhere.Perhaps this is just a case of excessive volume.

Blueblood,I agree with you on that score. Maybe a switch off point to the music at the point when the teams appear. Maybe after the appreciation of the team has been heard, then the music can be introduced for a further minute or so before kick-off.
