using the benefit of hindsight, the office consensus here is that ponting should have ordered a morning slogathon then declared behind, leaving mcgrath and lee to bowl in those conditions (obviously warne can take wickets in any conditions) and if they got the wickets needed they could have then stayed out today regardless of any badlight
